An ancient city. They’re not fully digging yet. But part of the city is on the ground. Admission is free! There are no properties. Transportation is provided by a narrow mountain road, but the road is asfalt.

We ended up in Seleukia during an excursion around the outskirts of Manavgat. The road in the mountains is quite good, at least for a small bus. We, as lovers of history and antiquities, really liked what we saw. The place is picturesque, multi-level, around a pine tree, the surrounding area is visible all the way to the sea - this explains the choice of place to build the city. Quite large parts of the buildings have been preserved, from which you can imagine what it looked like before. There are signs. There were a lot of people, but not so many that it would somehow interfere. We would love to come again, but on our own, so as not to be limited by time.

The ruins of an ancient city are surrounded by a pine grove (burnt down in places); the ruins themselves are in excellent condition (especially the agora). But don’t focus only on it, because there are still many interesting things around, you just need to move away just a couple of meters. There is no infrastructure, half an hour drive from Side by car along a small serpentine road, past a beautiful ancient aqueduct. The only big negative is that I read in many reviews that all this beauty is untouched by mass tourism, peace and blessings. Well, recently, unfortunately, this is not the case. We arrived at 11 o'clock and were simply amazed by 5 huge tourist buses with foreigners. There are 70 people on each bus. They are also transported in jeeps. Well, at the entrance a man will be waiting for you in a life-size costume of Yulia the Horse from cartoons about heroes (I'm not joking). However, this crowd only takes pictures at the Agora, and you still have the opportunity to walk around and enjoy everything else.

Poorly marked, unsecured and neglected. The place has potential but definitely not like this. It doesn't compare to ancient Side. The commute calls for vengeance to heaven - I was traveling by bus and I thought I would have a heart attack on all those steep slopes. 😳 you can go there on occasion, but definitely not on purpose.

Enjoyed visiting this site as part of a day trip and took many photographs along the way of the various ruins, as well as some mountains.

This is one of off beaten path with easy reach from Antalya / Manavgat / Side by car. There are ruins here and there with most impressive Agora.
The city itself is very easy to navigate as there is "city map" close to "city gate" and its location is mentioned in the "map". We didn't go far and explore every corner of Lybre however we visited its hammam, several ruins, necropolis, some cisterns.
Recommended to go early in the morning with its amazing sun shined. We went in January when it was a bit cold but with sun shined and only 3 people around including us.
