Many thanks Ümit for sharing your knowledge of the history of Cappadocia as well as the local culture and traditions! We had a great day and you did not hesitate to adapt your itinerary according to the places we had already visited the day before. We greatly appreciated your kindness and your hospitality. This day allowed us to visit all the incredible spots of Cappadocia and we will keep wonderful memories (attend a fashion show, visit a carpet factory, taste Turkish dried fruits, etc.). I recommend Ümit without hesitation!

The most horrible experience as a solo traveler! When I booked this tour for 1st May, 2023, I got a message asking me if I could move this tour to 2nd or 3rd May because Umit, the owner and guide said that he wants to celebrate on 1st May as is their tradition. We spoke over the phone and I obliged. Then he started complaining about his assistant having priced the tour wrongly as they should have made it necessary for at least 2 people to attend. I thought both these gestures were very unprofessional and I even thought of cancelling the tour with him. But because he was highly rated and loved in his reviews, I nudged along. I offered him to pay him extra 50 Euros just so he doesn't cater to me grumpily and he accepted happily. We then discussed and agreed to do a private tour on 2nd May and that I shall pay him directly on that day. I made another mistake of trusting him on this. I should have booked only through viator in hindsight. I had a gut feeling that something will go wrong and I messaged him twice as a reminder so he wouldn't keep me hanging, once before leaving for Turkey and once on the day of my arrival on 30th April, 2023. He confirmed both times and we agreed to. meet on 2nd May. On 1st May, the very 1st day of my stay, I went on a very early Balloon ride and I had hardly slept on 31st. Hence I started feeling under the weather and weak and cold. But I kept going. I got a message from Umit in the afternoon asking me if we can meet in the evening. I was too weak and cold to meet him so I told him that we shall meet the next day and went to sleep to rest and recover. He then messaged me late evening, sending me his Grandmom's photo in a hospital and started sharing an emotional story of how she is going to die and that he needs to visit the hospital on 2nd May and that he has arranged for another guide and driver to take me on the private tour that I had booked with him. That made me feel worse! I was already not in the best of my health and this request just put me off given the history and nature of our conversations in the past. I had not just missed my village tour on viator that was confirmed for 1st May, but now this! I felt cheated, shortchanged, taken for a ride - all at once! My health just got worse. After much back and forth messaging, between us - because I wanted to be sure that the guide he was sending as a replacement was as good as him. Because I had seen Umit's reviews and booked HIM and not anyone else. He cannot just send anyone else, sending emotional messages in the last moment. I found this extremely unprofessional. When we finally spoke late at night because I wasn't able to sleep due to this feeling of being cheated and shortchanged and fooled - he started crying and shouting over the phone. This was the most horrible experience of my life. On one hand I was feeling sorry for his grandmother. On the other hand I was feeling that something was off with his behaviour and this kind of unprofessionalism. I didn't trust him. When I told this to my family in Konya who also run a tour agency, they immediately told me that it was all a lie! How can someone cancel a tour on 1st May. And then message me about sending another guide on 2nd May because suddenly he wanted to visit his Grandmother. I was told that because I was a solo traveler, there wasn't much money he was making out of me, hence this treatment! I felt TERRIBLE! And the crying and shouting put me spirits down even further! I fell more sick! I couldn't sleep all night. I wanted to cancel both my trips with him and I did. I would rather not sightsee than go out with such a horrible person! I wasn't going to write this review but my family in Konya insisted I do because someone out there needs to know the downside stories and experiences of people like me too! Nobody is perfect! And the mistake I made of not trusting my gut feeling when he asked me to change dates and when he told me about the pricing mistake made by his assistant, someone else can learn from mine and decide better! Anyway, I would never recommend this person to anyone, especially a solo traveler, because it's all about the money for this person.

Fantástico!! Gran experiencia!! Hicimos todo lo que queríamos ( red y green tours) más otros lugares sugeridos por Ümit.
Muy agradable!! Nos fue a buscar al aeropuerto y empezamos inmediatamente nuestro tour. Se adaptó a nuestros tiempos e intereses, nos explicó todo cuanto quisimos saber. Además, nos mostró y enseñó mucho de la cultura de la zona, desde la fabricación de alfombras y cerámicas, comida y dulces típicos, música local, etc… un viaje que por nuestra cuenta no habría sido lo mismo.

Umit was a fantastic guide! Not only did he show us all the sights, but he really gave us insights into the culture and history of everything we were seeing. He somehow found a way to avoid the worst of the tourist crowds, we had the underground city and hike through through the rose valley practically to ourselves. He really made our trip special and I would highly recommend him!

Our family of four with two active boys spent five days with Umit during the trip of a lifetime in Cappadocia. Umit picked us up at the airport, arranged travel and meals and accommodations, provided intelligent background along the way, journeyed with us through caves and churches and markets, arranged a hot air balloon ride, and left us with an exception context for this incredible region. He was funny and articulate and flexible, matching our interests with the best of Cappadocia. We highly recommend him for anyone who wants to see the best of Cappadocia.

What really made the tour special was Umit's expertise as a guide. From start to finish, he was focused on ensuring we had the very best experience of Cappadocia. Excellent way to see all the sites of Cappadochia efficiently. Umit has grown up in the area and knows which site to visit to avoid the crowds. We went to some lovely vistas as well for photos. Lunch was also good. Overall, a great option to see everything in a day.
