This is a stunning amphitheatre and probably one of the best preserved and restored one I've ever seen. Definitely see this if you're there

Hierapolis is an ancient spa town. Among its ruins, you can find an excellently preserved theater and a necropolis with sarcophagi that extends for 2 km. The thermal pool is famous for its Roman columns submerged as a result of an earthquake and where it bathed, according to the story Cleopatra.

Nice, really nice! The theater is situated on a hill overlooking all the Roman sites of Hirapolis, It is not huge, but well preserved over time and fascinating.

We arrived in Pamukkale early in the morning, so we had the chance to visit the theater without much confusion. Bellissimo!

The view is very beautiful and unusual, but the road to this miracle is hell. Our guide didn't show us where to buy a ticket for the buggy that takes tourists up and back, so we climbed the mountain ourselves. They found out about the buggy at the top. Time was running out and we had to get back to the bus, so we went directly right uphill, not left, where there was an asphalt but longer road. As a result, there's only an amphitheatre at the top of the mountain and everything... has to go down...again... While climbing, it was very hot +46, drank and poured all the water on my head, and on the way down I still tore the sandals completely against the rocks.
Tip:slather sunscreen along and across, and take it with you, be sure to wear a headdress and comfortable sports shoes, and plenty of water, and that will be your happiness!

The ancient city of Hierapolis means !
Built on the top of the mountain above Pamukkale in 190 BC, it was a hot spring resort city for the nobles at that time!
In order for the nobles to have fun after bathing in hot springs, the ancient city has a good drainage system, library, and market.
There is also a grand theater that can accommodate more than 20,000 people watching at the same time!
Although it has become a ruined building today, you can still get a glimpse of the glory of that time~~

Although it took 3 hours from Kusadasi to get there, it was definitely worth it! Take sunscreen, even if you don’t usually get burnt. We went in April & it got up to 30C! We did not realise the Hierapolis, Pamukkale & Cleopatra’s pool are all on the same grounds. Cleopatra’s pool was €15 Euros & there is an ATM onsite. This is to cover a key locket to keep your things in.
Wear comfortable shoes (lots of walking), take flip flops, swimwear (if you want to swim) and a towel. You cannot wear any shoes onto the mineral site (Pamukkale) so if your feet are sensitive, take care. Some areas can be slippery but it is a must. Some pool areas are warm and others are cool.
We didn’t swim in Cleopatra’s pool as we did not have enough time to do it all. You can rent golf carts & other types of vehicles or a mini van to get you around the vast site but it is pricey. The hierapolis is one of the best ones we have seen & we have seen several in Greece, Rhodes and Rome. This was really put back together over 40 years by the Archaeologists. So amazing! Enjoy!!

It's a pain to get up there, but you will NOT regret it. What a sight! T
It's not as big as the one at Ephesus, but I personally think the view is better. It's also better preserved than most. The Romans knew what they were doing, that's all I can say.

Starting from the spectacle of the white ecce, we go up towards the archaeological site. Don't be scared by the climb or the heat. Absolutely worth it!! Don't miss it. Imposing.

Hi! Around how long did it take you to walk to the amphitheater?
It depends on which side you are going to enter. There is a south gate and a north gate. The amphitheater is 15-20min walk from south gate however, if you enter via north gate it will take you sometime (over and hour)since you have to see the sites and the ruins on the way. You can always take the shuttle if you don't want to walk.

Good day! How can I find out about the conditions (rent, technical restrictions) for the video recording of a music video in this amphitheater at night?

Best time will be spring most probably. Bodrum is 3 hrs drive. 1 day with a guide is ok. You have to read some historical info before you come. If you rent a car Dedeman hotel is out of the city Denizli. We stayed there.
