Xã đảo Tân Hiệp thuộc Hội An, nơi có cù lao Chàm nổi tiếng thu hút du khách.

This is an Island, around 10km from Hoi an. The water was clean, good food and fresh atmosphere. Should go to explore! Gluck!

Do not book a speedboat tour! It is pure stress. Take the public ferry, stay one or two nights and you have a wonderful experience of the sea and the land with its big monkey population. The corals and fish ate beautiful and much better to see exploring the island on your own or with the Hoi An diving schools. And if you like seafood, I do not know any better place in the world!

I feel quite strongly about writing an extensive and honest review of Cham Island - despite reading all the bad reviews, we booked a snorkelling trip with a local company and had a fantastic day out.
They organised collection/drop off to and from our hotel then took a speedboat to the island for a short tour of the village. The village is basic as expected with local food vendors and market sellers and a small pagoda. There is a very small museum showing the biodiversity of the island and the measurements put in place to protect the ecosystem.
We then departed the first island to change into swimming gear at the main beach, the changing facilities and toilets are very clean!
Speedboat then took us to the snorkelling spot where they provided life jackets and goggles (if needed - we took our own) the coral is in fairly good condition and we spotted some beautiful parrot fish and starfish. Marine life isn’t the best I’ve seen but still worth doing if you enjoy snorkelling as the water is calm and clear (few small jellyfish stings but nothing dangerous) - One thing to make clear - the boat is a speedboat with a small ladder to climb on/off for snorkelling - If you’re not physically fit enough to pull yourself up onto the boat - this is not for you!
Some members of our group seemed to assume they would have an easy entrance/exit to the water - not sure what snorkelling trips they’ve been on..
After snorkelling we were dropped off at the main beach, beautiful blue clear warm water and soft white sand! I was highly surprised to find a perfect beach as I expected an awful one after reading reviews.
Lunch at the beach was delicious, fresh local fish, chicken curry, fresh fruit and vegetables. Much better than expected! (If you won’t eat street food - again, this isn’t the place for you)
We spent the rest of the day relaxing at the beach and returned to Da Nang at around 3pm. This was a full day trip leaving at 9:30am - 3pm.
I would recommend this trip to travellers with an open mind and open to how the real Vietnamese people live. It’s not a 5* luxury trip and for £16 it’s great value for money - the tour guides don’t speak perfect English but they will try and help if you ask.
Some people on our trip were annoyed as they expected English speaking tour guides - you’re in Vietnam - don’t assume people can speak your language!
Overall - This was the perfect trip for us however if you are expecting luxury, don’t bother going and leave the beaches empty for us who can appreciate the natural beauty! :)

I'm normally someone that doesn't do tours, but I relented for the easy life for my first day and my first visit (for nearly forty years) to Da Nang.
Delays in picking up passengers, unnecessary stop offs to tourist shops blighted the journey there.
A tour of a pretty ghastly information centre, a tour of the locals selling produce (mainly dried seafood and rubbish trinkets), and eventually the snorkeling highlight, a twenty minute swim with dreary coral and just a handful of the small fish inhabitants.
Taking a step back, the only reason that I would ever go here is if I had a morning to kill, shoot down on a motorbike and part with the entrance and feet fees of around ď120,000.

beautiful island with good cafes, homestays, and a wonderful small fishing village outside of town by maybe 17 kilometers. We rented a scooter, very reasonable, and drove the island. easy driving, unlike Hanoi, and great scenery.

A guide who barely knew how to speak English, a boat that is dangerously speeding, you will not see ANYTHING of marine life doing snorkeling, a poor museum with poorly preserved marine life and a bland lunch!
If this is not enough for you to avoid the tour, keep in mind the following: you will not have an official guide from the beginning, it will appear when you arrive on the island. Before you have to follow strangers as if you were buying drugs. Upon arrival on the island, the guide offers you to visit the island on motorcycle for 100,000 dong more and tells you that you can not see many attractions on foot. The only good thing about the tour was the beach, which was very pretty and the private car with air conditioning.
Avoid this tour, if you want to visit the island, do it on your own.

Difficult to find how to get there on our own (no tour) and how to return to hoi an. Any suggestions?

Please write the name of free of charge beaches and the rate of charge for others. Why we need to pay if we paid island entrance?

We were on a daytrip to Cham Island. You had to pay for sun loungers but not sure which beaches you have to pay for.

What is the water quality like at Cham Island for snorkeling ? Clean or polluted water ?

We did not snorkel at Cham Island it was not clear there and I didn’t see many fish. The tour boat took us away from the island and we were able to see there. It may depend on what time of year you visit as the water is less clear in the wet season

I believe there is a ferry service but I am not sure of the details. You could always approach one of the boats that take people on tours there and just pay for the travel rather than their day tour fees.
Most of them are willing to negotiate to cater for your needs

si.

DON'T BOOK WITH SONG HOI TRAVEL!! It was a complete disaster. We waited a Lot of time for the boat. The boat was totally overcrowded. We didn't feel confortable, at all.
The place where we had to do the snorkle was little, not so beautiful and from the boat, not from a beach.
Only a girl speaks in english and she didn't understanded me when I talk to her.
And many more other bad things. Be careful with that company!!
