Not easy to get there if water flood is high, after you get there is worth it, we were in Victoria falls at the Zimbabwe side so you have to cross the border with Zambia which for a easy and hire a Taxi for 2 or 3 hours

Did this in early January when the flow and current was quite strong. Unique expérience and really enjoyed it, including the cool boat ride and great views of the falls from the island. Staff was very good, but still, with the current it did not feel super safe. I’m really concerned for the guy taking the photos. He is standing right on the edge of the fall, Ankle deep in the water, wearing crocks. It is very risky as he focuses on taking photos with our phone. I don’t understand why they don’t give him a harness.
Like all activities in livingstone, it is pricey and they add a bowl of porridge to justify it.

I will start my review with the following note. To all sellers of packages of Devil's Pool - please inform your customers when it is the easiest time of year to visit. My adventure was amazing due to the fact i know how to swim pretty good (lets say). The period I adventured myself was 2 days after the pool just opened. Unless you know how to swim please do not go at the beginning of September. After that when the flow starts to drop you can even walk by the edge of the water fall. The experience is unique and offers beautiful sights.
And another note for the people who are afraid to swim please ask the guides to help you go at the Angels Pool - experience is unique there too. My wife experience was amazing here - she couldn't visit Devils Pool due to the high flow of the water.

A must when you are visiting Victoria Falls.
The clamber down and up again is no problem for most people, even though I found it arduous. (I am 78) not recommend for a person with physical disability. Down at the pool, the force of the water descending to the pool from 'the smoke that thunders' - the African name for Victoria falls, is are inspiring.

Amazing experience. We felt very safe the whole time and this was easily our favorite activity in Victoria falls (Livingstone). Recommend for anyone visiting.

The best adventure we’ve had in ages!
You start with a boat ride to Livingstone Island and then it’s off to view the falls.
Wear walking shoes, sand is hot and rocks can be slippery.
After a quick island “tour” you head to the devil’s pool. It’s a short swim (moderate swimming ability needed to go against the current) before some more rock scrambling and then it’s into the pool!
Towels provided, no need for anything other than a camera/cell phone (one per group for the guide to snap photos as you swim).
The “light meal” is pretty substantial - we had sausage wraps.
No children under 12 can swim.

I wasn't prepared for this or I would have worn swim gear and water shoes. But once across the channel the pool was scary (but fairly safe). Gotta take a photo hanging over the edge

Wow, what an experience. They take you right to the edge. Life on the edge. But I must say that safety was always stressed by the instructors. The staff were extremely conscientious of everyone's safety and enforced the rules. Fantastic and spectacular experience.

I was nervous about doing this experience for obvious reasons but the guides were fantastic. Very professional and reassuring, keeping me calm and creating an unforgettable experience! They video and take photos while you're doing it too so you have a keepsake afterwards too. We had lunch included afterwards it was lovely, would definitely recommend.

This experience was all around incredible. The organization and execution by the tour operator was excellent. Is this scary? Yes. Is this a stupid? Absolutely not. No spoiler alerts here but if you are thinking of doing this…book it book it book it.

What is the risk of Schistosomiasis / Bilharzia / freshwater parasites as a result of the Devil's Pool?

If you have to ask such a question…then you need to stay home.

As a non-swimmer, is it possible to split in a same group and opt for Angel's Pool instead?
OR if I'm feeling like a daredevil, will I be fine if I just wore a lifejacket and go straight to Devil's Pool?
I was told by locals, that is currently no water at the Victoria falls. is it worthwhile to jump into the Devils Pool

Sorry for this late answer. We were also told so. We have no idea whether a dip in the pool is worth it then, neither whether it is still possible...
I'm going to Devil's pool in october. I can't swim very well and I'm scared to cross di the Zambesi River. How Deep Is the water? I have to swim or can i Walk in the River? Are there Ropes? Thanks!

Oh, you're going to be just fine. They have a section for the non-swimmers, a speedboat takes you close enough and you walk appx 3 mins. The great thing about the pool for non swimmers (which equally by the ledge) is you get great shots and videos since there are fewer people there! The water is really cold though, despite the sun and the beautiful rainbow. You're gonna love it!

I have been trying to book online but I can't because the website won't accept any of the phone numbers I've tried. I have tried numerous ones, including that of Tongabezi, along with the correct country code for each number I entered without success. I tried contacting both email addresses on the Tongabezi's website as well but nobody responded. Could someone please suggest a phone number that might work?

Hi Josu,
The best thing to do would be to email our team on livingstoneisland@tongabezi and they will help you make a booking. You would, however, have to make your own way to our launch site near the Falls since we don't do transfers. Our team will be very happy to give you all the information you need.
Best wishes,

Hi All
We have booked a Tongabezi Devil’s Pool tour. The company would like us to deposit the payment in a Zambia bank account. Is this a safe thing to do please?
Tongabezi
Livingstone, زامبيا11 مساهمة
Hi Cherie,
As long as you are booking through Tongabezi itself (via email I'm guessing at this point?) we can confirm that you are completely safe. There are a few scammers out there but they go under different names and don't link to our official website.
Unfortunately when the websites go down or there is an issue the only way to safely pay is in fact straight into the Livingstone Island bank account.
We hope you enjoy your experience of Life on the Edge!
Best wishes,
Team Tongabezi

Hi, after the experience would you be able to stay in the park? Meaning is the cost of entry covered for the day so you can walk around the falls?
JuanAlarcon1

No, the devils' pool is in an island across. The cost of the park is separate. Remember that there is the Zambia part and the Zimbawee part. Each side charges to get into the park.
