I found the tour very interesting. It was great that I was with my family and did the tour at our own pace. I just think that a brochure that tourists can get a bit of information about the heritage site from could be handy since it's not a guided tour.

One of the second biggest heritage sites in Zimbabwe located 22km west of Bulawayo city built before the 18th century by the Rozvi Mambo Dynasty.

Decided to visit the ruins , road access poor to get to however once there cheap to enter, lovey views from the site, nice walk up to the dam wall, however the actual ruins a little un kept , however well worth the visit especially the dam at the far side.

Khami Ruins is a special place, especially with local knowledge. Loved my time there. We made a last-minute booking with This and That Safaris, and they were able to fit us - thankfully, as it made the experience very special. We visited the Ruins with our guide for the day, Chaa. He was very knowledgable and informative. We learned a lot of history and info about the rock formations; the atmosphere at the ruins intriguing. A highlight was having our picnic - surrounded by monkeys who wanted to share our food - I'll never forget that. One of the nicest tour experiences I've had.
After the tour, Chaa the guide took us to a good shop to buy food for the night train from Bulawayo, which was very helpful during the train trip. A big thanks for the drop off at the station, the friendliness, and for all of the knowledge you shared with us. I've already recommended Chaa to fellow travelers.
I **love** Zimbabwe, its landscapes, animals, music, people and history - this tour and Chaa's guiding added to my passion for the country.

В Большое Зимбабве не попали, удалось посетить руины Хами. Комплекс небольшой, минут 20-30 с головой хватит, чтобы обойти территорию.

Khami Ruins is a smaller, less-visited site than the Great Zimbabwe, but has all the same elements - the brick work, especially. It preceded the Great Zimbabwe’s building.

Enjoyed the climb. But place looks deserted. No tour guide which could have made it more educational. Along tge road from Bulawayo there's no/poor signage. If you use Google maps you're led to Bulawayo citt water works.

We enjoyed this short jaunt out of Bulawayo about 20 km. We hired a driver for $50 who stayed while we took a tour. Foreigners pay $10 each entrance fee. These truins are about 4- 500 years old and provide a glimpse into a civilization tha tlived there and traded with people from Asia and other parts of Africa and the middle east. Lovely spot with some great views. Also a small but nice museum.

Hie Kindly assist. How reliable is public transport if I want to use it to get to the ruins?

My answer may not be relevant any longer - I just saw this. My apologies. However, I would not recommend public transport because the ruins are well away from the cities or towns, in a park. Your destination point would be well away from any other traffic or public transport stop. I would recommend a taxi or other car/driver arrangement. As always, agree on a price first (use Google Maps or something to determine route and distance).
Besides history...what else can one do for fun at the site
