The Pirate Boat is a touring boat on the lake of Argo, connecting the North Coast air cable station to the Taoyuan station with the southern coast of the town of Argo, the area of Yellow Argo, because each touring boat is made to look like a pirate ship in Europe and America, the thick cinema park style, making the view of the lake more fun. Takeda has issued a package package that includes pirate ships, so there are a lot of people on board. When the boat approaches the harbour of Hokkaido, you can see the Mount Fuji standing on the shore of the lake, and the red birdhouse in the lake, which is a representative view of the lake.

I ride in an impressive boat by the lake, relaxed enjoying the scenery, but it got short, cross the lake from end to end 20 minutes or so. It is a circuit where you can far the return to the area both by funicular, cable car, train, boat and bus in a beautiful frame...very very enjoyable and recommended... you also see the Fuji from a part of the lake..what brutality of stamp.

We went here around the cherry blossom time. We took a quick cruise on the Queen Ashinoko from one end to another. She's a beautiful ship. We paid for 1st class to skip the line and to be able to have a higher level view on the top deck of the ship. My hope was to see Mt Fuji but the sun god did not answer my call so we only got a nice ship ride and a cruise of the lake.

It was quite a pity that it was a rainy day when we went. However we bought the VIP seats and were able to take pictures on the top deck. Worth the top up from the Hakone pass.
It was only a short ride of about 20-30 mins. Great experience to reach the Hakone ropeway

The sightseeing cruise is on a pirate ship! The cruise, part of the train - bus - ship - cable car sequence, offers lovely views and options aplenty for clicks / selfies.

A great trip, we were lucky enough to see Mount Fuji from most angles, although it was cloudy by the time we reached the lake. Due to a landslide we went to a village instead of Station 5, it's a nice place but you need to pay extra for the best view of Fuji, its only 600 yen (about £3). The ropeway was amazing, very high up but peaceful, and excellent views of both Lake Ashi and Mount Fuji. The pirate ship ride was ok, lots of people as other reviews have said, so not as enjoyable as the other parts of the tour. The shrine was a wonderful spiritual place to visit and make a wish/prayer, very beautiful area. Angiesan was a fab tour guide, giving us information as we went around, including photos and props! It was a bit of a whistlestop tour and I feel you could spend a lot longer at each place to be honest, but it's good if you want to pack a lot into your holiday.

As part of our 3 Day pass for Hakone and Kamakura were enjoyed the Sightseeing Cruise. A very Kitsch ship, decked out for pirates. We didn't see any loitering about...we might have missed them. I suspect young and old alike will enjoy this voyage on a clear and sunny day!
The trip to Motohakone-ko is approximately 35 minutes. We then located the bus but afterwards learned that we could have taken the ship back.
A perfect way to enjoy Lake Ashinoko. Mt Fuji in the rear, Red Tori Gates and Cherry Blossoms surround the Lake edge in spring.
The cruise apparently sails back to the starting point Togendai-ku, wish we would have known that... the bus was a horrible experience.

It was a unique conceptualized short cruise in Ashi lake of Japan with absolutely clear water.Lifetime memory. We had a lot of fun as we had made our own sea pirate themed dress and that was liked by almost all passengers on ship and many of them took few photos and videos with us.

a tourist trap of the most beautiful effects. The boat is nothing extraordinary, the walk lasts twenty minutes at water level where there is nothing to see, the interior of the boat is ordinary

The boat trip was pleasant and kids are sure to enjoy the "pirate" design. The views of Mt. Fuji from the boat are not so clear though, so don't expect too much in that regard. The trip passes by the gate of the Hakone shrine. One nice feature is that they sell excellent craft beer onboard for a reasonable price!

箱根フリーパスを購入するつもりですが、海賊船の特別船室の前売りは、JTBとかで購入できますか？

調べてみましたが、前売り券は無いのではないでしょうか。
自分が行った時は、フリーパスをもってそのまま乗船しました。(一般で特別船室ではないです。)
一応予約できるそうですが、１５名以上の団体のみだそうです。(公式HP参照)

Are there life jackets on board? If not, what is the safety standard in case of emergency? It looks like it can fit a lot of people so I'm a little concern in a case of emergency.

If I were to choose only 1 port between Motohakone and Hakonemachi to get off, which port is more worth the trip? I'm getting on the ship from Togendai. Any attractions nearby?

I prefer hakonemachi port if you want to stop. There some shop, market, restaurant and hotel. And mostly this port for drop off the tourist bus.

Ciao!!volevo sapere se per fare la crociera sul lago Ashi c'è bisogno di fare una prenotazione anticipata(magari prima di arrivare in Giappone da qlk sito)oppure basta arrivare ad Hakone e andare all'ufficio informazioni e prendere i biglietti??io sarò in Giappone ad agosto...grazie:)

I would recommend buying a Hakone Day pass when you buy your train ticket in Tokyo through the Odakayu line. You should be able to get tickets on the day you want to travel. Even though I only spent 1 day in Hakone the pass allowed me to get on and off buses and the lake cruise boats - so basically you can spend your day travelling wherever you want to go at no extra cost.
