和歌山城の天守閣から散策してきて来ました。紅葉渓の名前のように秋は綺麗なのだろうと想像しました。3月初旬でしたが、もう暖かくなってきていたので緑が綺麗に映えていました。池にかかる橋と水面に映る緑が風流な風景になっていました。

和歌山城公園の北西に位置する日本庭園です。紀州徳川家の第一代藩主である徳川頼宣によって隠居所として築かれた庭園です。
規模はそれほど大きくなく、周回するだけなら5分程度で済みます。但し園内は起伏が多く、園内の小径の多くは石畳であるため、雨の日は滑りやすいのに注意が必要です。障碍を持つ方の利用は非常に難しいでしょう。小径も狭いため、大きな荷物はコインロッカー等に預けた上で来園した方がよさそうです。
鬱蒼とした木々に囲まれているからか、和歌山城公園周辺の喧騒はほとんど聞こえません。小さな庭園ではありますが、起伏が多いからか、様々な角度から庭園の景色を楽しむことが出来ます。この庭園の異名にもある通り、秋が深まる季節の紅葉が実に見事です。あまり陽の光が当たらないように設計されているからか、深く落ち着いた朱色の紅葉を楽しむことが出来ます。
This Japanese garden is located in the northwest of Wakayama Castle Park. The garden was built by Yorinobu Tokugawa, the first lord of the Tokugawa family in Kishu, as his retreat.
The scale of the garden is not very large and it only takes about 5 minutes to go around. However, there are a lot of ups and downs in the garden and many of the paths are paved with stones, so be careful not to slip on rainy days. So, it would be very difficult for people with disabilities to use the park. The paths are also narrow, so it would be better to leave your large luggage in a coin locker before coming to the park.
Perhaps because it is surrounded by dense trees, you can hardly hear the hustle and bustle around Wakayama Castle Park. Although it is a small garden, you can enjoy the view of the garden from various angles, probably because of its many undulations. As the garden's other name suggests, the autumn leaves are truly magnificent in the deepening autumn season. Perhaps because the garden is designed to avoid too much sunlight, you can enjoy the deep and serene vermilion leaves.

江戸時代初期に作庭された池泉回遊式の城郭庭園です。虎伏山の渓地形を利用して立石を多用してます。紀州青石と言う石らしいです。紅葉が見事なので紅葉渓庭園と言われるのでしょう。国の名勝に指定されてます。

和歌山城西の丸にある庭園です。紅葉渓庭園という名前が付いています。池の上には御橋廊下という橋が架かっています。斜めになった廊下という珍しい構造です。猛暑日の炎天下でしたが、池を巡っていると束の間、涼しい気分になりました。

お堀にかかった木製の渡り廊下を歩き、二の丸庭園の反対側にあるのが、紅葉渓庭園になります。さらに池の中には、鳶魚閣という小さな建物があり風流です。起伏のある庭園内を丸い石を埋め込んだ通路を歩きながら楽しみました。

和歌山城の内濠の中に合う日本庭園で、無料で入ることができます。和歌山市駅から行くと、ちょうどこの庭園を通って天守閣に向かうことができます。名前に紅葉とついていますが、紅葉の季節でなくとも、池を中心とした庭園の風景を楽しむことができました。

こじんまりとした日本庭園ですが、堀の水を引き入れ、水の流れもある素敵な庭園です。近くには、藩主と付人しか渡ることのできなかった御橋廊下も復元されており、どちらも無料なのが嬉しい。茶室もあり、抹茶とお茶菓子(470円)が頂けます。

The garden is tiny but worth passing through. You could have a matcha + cake in the little pavillion, although in my estimation it is not worth it.

從和歌山城西面入內，步行不用三分鐘便到達溪庭園。冬天到訪日式庭園顯得有點冷清。小小庭園園内只有水池、御橋廊、傳統日式茶館和枯枝。

紀ノ川を見た後和歌山駅に戻る途中の和歌山城に入る入り口にある。小さな庭園だが和風の景色が良い。ゆっくりと歩いて御船石（おふないし）、内堀に浮かぶ鳶魚閣（えんぎょかく）、茅門などを眺めていると、気分が落ち着いてくる。無料なのもうれしい。
