この庭園には４年程前に一度訪れたことが有りますが、今回は連れ合いと一緒に訪れてみました。
この庭園は１８世紀の終わり頃に造られましたが、先の沖縄戦で壊滅的な被害にあい、１９７５年（昭和５０年）から整備が進められて、約２０年の歳月と約８億円以上の費用をかけて、ようやく今の姿に出来上がったとの事です。
御殿を中心にして池があり、回遊式庭園になっていますので、池の周りを散策する事が出来ます。

世界遺産の琉球王家最大の別邸だそうです。建物は琉球家屋、庭園は中国テイスト満載の造りになっていました。日本本土より随分中国の影響を受けていることを感じる美しい庭園でした。入園料400円てす。

I visited Shikinaen Garden on a perfect sunny day in December. Entrance fee was cheap, I think it was ¥400. The garden is pretty large, with a palace, pond, trails, etc. It was fun to walk around the palace then venture onto the trails cutting across the pond. Everywhere you walk, there are amazing views. There are also places with benches and shade so visitors can relax and take their time. I got lucky, the day I went (might be daily, not sure) there was a half hour show with traditional sanshin music and dances. This was an incredible experience. I hope one day visitors can come and I can show them Shikinaen Garden.

那覇市内滞在しまだ行ったことがない識名園へ行ってきました。
ホテル近くのバス停からバスに乗り識名園下車しすぐでした。入湯料¥400
琉球王国時代の別荘地、素晴らしい庭園を歩いて見てまわれる。中国と日本の文化と琉球王国独自の工夫ある庭園でした

琉球王家の別邸です。入口からすぐに沢山の木々に囲まれ南国独特の雰囲気が漂っています。明、清代の使節を接待した施設であることから、中国風の趣があります。
時期的に観光がほとんどいない時だったのでゆっくりみてまわれました。

琉球海炎祭の翌日、那覇の町歩きをして識名園に行きました。首里城にも行ったのですが、識名園とは別々に行くことをお勧めします。歩くと、高低差もあって半時間ぐらいかかります。

宿泊先から近い所にあったので伺いました。
園内はさほど広くないのでゆっくり見ても1時間かかりませんでした。
訪れて良かったので首里城へいく予定のある方に時間があればお勧めしたいです。

A beautiful, historic location. You can easily spend 2 hours walking in the gardens. The peace and tranquality is fantastic. We REALLY enjoyed it and will be going back again soon!

For a pleasant stoll in the park, you can not go wrong here. The grounds are well maintained and designed. Most of it is level but there are areas those with mobility issues need to avoid. The plants, buildings, ponds and streams made for a quiet, peaceful walk.

..queste le parole che mi vengono in mente quando penso in generale ai giardini Giapponesi, e questo non è da meno: ordine perché in condizioni meteo ottimali non c’è mai nulla fuori posto e tutto è sistemato con una precisione maniacale invidiabile; solennità per l’atmosfera tranquilla, il silenzio che aleggia e le modalità con cui certi riti vengono qui celebrati (basti pensare anche solo alla cerimonia del tè). Rilassanti e piacevolissime per noi le due ore di passeggio trascorse qui tra laghetti popolati da carpe Koi, ponticelli in legno o pietra, aiuole curate, piante colorate e gli immancabili cartelli che invitano a prestare attenzione all’eventuale presenza del pericoloso serpente Habu, il cui morso è potenzialmente letale..
