“‪Only went to Chinatown for one thing‬”

‪لقد زرت Chinatown في البداية فقط لشراء عنصر من متجر TinTin ، وتجاوزت متحف التراث الصيني الذي كان جوهرة مطلقة في البحث. باستخدام جولة صوتية ، تمكنت من إكمال الجولة وفقًا لسرعتي الخاصة. لقد وجدت الدليل الصوتي إشراك والقصص مقنعة. أوصي بأن يذهب الناس في طريقهم لزيارة هذا المتحف لأنه أمر لا بد منه لأي شخص يقدر التاريخ‬

‪زرت بعد تناول الإفطار لدينا على طول شارع جوهور القديم. دفعت RM 6 للدخول وليس مكانًا كبيرًا ، ولكن ساعة كافية للسير عبر تاريخ جوهور. سوف يفهم U كيف جاء المهاجرون وكيف يعيشون في الأيام الخوالي.‬

‪Interesting place to visit to learn more about the history of the Chinese community and its contribution to the development of Johor Bahru! Fee is RM 6 and it is situated in a 3 floor building.‬

‪A Great Place to Learn about Johor's History‬

‪I would recommend to all those history lovers out there. I learn a lot about the heritage of Johor after visiting this museum. One of Johor Bahru founding father was Wong Ah Fook and I was curious to learn more about him. This museum had allowed me to get to know his history and the impact he had made in shaping Johor Bahru‬

‪Chinese Heritage of Johor Bahru‬

‪The Chinese Heritage Museum is a fantastic museum detailing the history of Chinese settlement in Johor Bahru. The first two floors are dedicated to and have an amazing amount of detail about the different Chinese communities that settled and on their contribution. The top floor is a special exhibit on gambier, the crop that originally made Johor wealthy and first brought the Chinese over. A great museum for a very small entrance fee.‬

‪I only initially visited Chinatown to buy an item from the TinTin shop and I walked past the Chinese Heritage Museum which was an absolute gem of a find. Using an audio tour I was able to complete the tour at my own pace. I found the audio guide engaging and the stories compelling. I will recommend that people go out of their way to visit this museum because it’s a must see for anyone who appreciates history ‬

‪Visited after taking our breakfast along this old Street of Johor. Paid RM6 for entrance and it's not a big place, but an hour is sufficient to walk thru the history of Johor. U will understand how the immigrates came and how do they make a living in the old days. ‬

‪Informative & Inspiring Exhibitions‬

‪I visited this on a Sunday afternoon. Paid just 6 ringgit for entrance fee (adult rate). Spent a good 1.5 hours at this place, touring the 4 story building, slowing taking in the video and wall exhibitions.

It was an informative exhibition that tells the story of the Chinese who settled in Johore from the mid-19th century, developed the gambier and pepper industry that came to define the economic transformation of the areas surrounding Johor, and also forged a strong and enduring collaboration with the Malay populace and rulers. The exhibitions were also inspiring in that it tells of the sacrifices and hard work of the early Chinese to build a better life not just for their community, but for the population at large.

Good to spend 1-1.5 hours here to go through slowly the exhibitions and watch the videos of the history of the area.‬
