‪the location is impressive. the building is huge and has so much potentials that are yet to be explored and utilized by the museum's management. The idea to showcase all the facets of a Malaysian village life on the 360 degree mural is noble, but so much more could have been done. Such as putting up a sensearound audio/visual show, visual projection show etc. Instead, the whole experience has been quite a passive one.

And no elevator as well, so it was difficult for my 73 years old mother to walk up the steps to reach up the circular mural viewing platform.

the exhibition area downstairs as well need more activities and information. Currently ots very subdued and muted.‬

‪We were expecting to learn about how they grew and harvested paddy from traditional to modern times. Instead all we saw was a display of equipment used but no proper explanation or videos of the end to end process. They wasted space providing play areas for kids to play traditional games instead. Come here only if you have absolutely nothing else to do. ‬

‪This is a museum about the history of rice cultivation in Kedah and also across Malaysia. If you have knowledge about rice cultivation, it might be of great interest to you. It is definitely a must go if you are stopping by Alor Setar.

At the top of the building, you get to see a lifelike painting of a panorama of Kedah’s landscape of paddy fields. (Revolving platform) There is a photo taking service (charged separately).

More could probably be done to market this museum better as it seems like a very unique place.

One thing to note for tourists - if you don’t drive, make sure you have transportation back to Alor Setar. It’s possible to take Grab from Alor Setar to this museum but you might not be able to get a Grab back to Alor Setar. You may want to request the Grab driver to fetch you or you would likely need the museum staff to call you a cab. (Fare will be prenegotiated - we spent RM 25 going back to Alor Setar via cab)‬

‪The structure is nice but the main attraction which is the painting needs to be retouched. It would have been better to just put a revolving tower that can see actual rice fields. Also, it would have been nicer if they provide actual experience in a rice field especially for kids.‬

‪The semi spherical diorama is very stunning. Combination of paintings and replica object create 3D panorama which look so real! It also give the visitors view of Kedah Malay village. The rest of the section give complete information about padi plantation in Malaysia; especially Kedah which is known as Negeri Jelapang Padi (State of Padi Warehouse).
Certain exhibits has broken. The management should do the maintenance.
The ticket price is very reasonable.‬

‪It’s located in the middle of paddy field and across Mt. Keriang. Entrance is only rm 5/person. Stairs brings us direct to 1st floor to see around International paddy and samples. Then round stairs brings up to 2nd floor to revolving area to see the beauty painting of old time in that area. Down to ground floor is a big area where all the equipments to process from paddy to rice. Souvenir shop has many interesting paddy tea. One corner is Cambodian paddy, explanation and some antique equipments. Interesting museum! ‬

‪This place is located away from the city centre. It's surrounded by many paddy fields ... In the museum, we can see many types of paddy from around the world aside from the tools used to process and harvest the crop. A walk up the man-made cave in the museum brought us to a revolving mountain overlooking a village which is cool. It's hard for the elderly to navigate, as there are many stairs to climb and toilet was far from the building. We were a group of different age groups of people. I saw the mostly the older ages like the museum whereas the younger generation didn't.‬

‪This museum exhibits the rice cultivation process and the equipment and tools used through the ages. A stairway leads to a revolving platform where one can view a stunning 360 degree diorama of paddy fields and sceneries of Kedah.‬

‪This place is located away from the city central. It's surrounded by paddy field in fact. The aircon was out at the time we got there. The management was "cool" enough to give everyone a discounted entry price. Thumb up for that. In the museum, we can see many types of paddy from around the world aside from the tools use to process and harvest the crop. A walk up the man-made cave in the museum brought us to a revolving mountain overlooking a village which is cool.‬
