‪Best tour ever!‬

‪Joann is a unique gem of a tour guide. She is so passionate and enthusiastic about Penang, with over 30 years of experience, you will not meet someone as well-read or with such multi-disciplinary interests. We thoroughly enjoyed our tailor-made tour. I’d say it was the best we’ve ever taken. Thank you!‬

‪Get to know Penang better‬

‪I joined the walking tour about Chinese imprint in Penang and really enjoined it. Joanne shared to us many interesting facts about the town and showed us some places which you wouldn't find by yourself as a tourist. My favorite part was visiting a Chinese mansion, - practically a museum.‬

‪What an excellent tour!‬

‪We went on a morning food tour of the markets and restaurants- we were very happy and very full!

Joann took us to some lovely places, was super-knowledgeable and a pleasure to spend time with. Would highly recommend!!‬

‪Joann was a truly great guide. Possibly the best we've ever had anywhere, not just in Malaysia.

Intellectually curious, quite knowledgeable, very flexible with planning and generous with her time.

We wound up booking her for several days, the experience was so great!‬

‪Brilliant walking tour - don't miss out!‬

‪Joann is brilliant! We learned so much on our walking tour, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Joann has a really in-depth knowledge of the area and its history, and she's also got a great sense of humour. She took us to so many places we would never have found on our own and hooked us up with some amazing snacks along the way. She was also very kind and accommodating when a friend of ours couldn't make it last minute. 10/10, Joann is the best!‬

‪A breathtaking tour of the history of Georgetown‬

‪I took a private tour with Joann and she did a fabulous job with customising the walk based on my tastes and preferences. I wanted to learn about the architecture and the history of Georgetown and she effortlessly detailed out the tour in that fashion.

From getting to know about heritage shophouse features to the evolution of clans, I have got a great head start to explore Penang. The highlight of the tour was meeting some iconic artisans who are integral to the culture of Penang.

Joann was extremely sweet and she genuinely cares about the heritage of the city. I would highly recommend doing a tour with Joann.‬

‪History, culture and food all in one tour‬

‪Joann is a lovely person, and very knowledgeable about Penang, Malaysia and its history. We learned so much and she answered all our questions. Not dry at all, she's a very happy and funny person.
My main interest was about all the food of Penang, she accommodated this very well. Even though this is not her expertise.
All in all it was a food combination of history, culture and food.
We never take (private) tours, but after this experience I regret not having done this on all of my previous trips!‬

‪Fabulous walking tour of Georgetown‬

‪Joann led a fabulous bespoke walking tour for myself and six friends. Upon meeting us at our hotel she began by giving us some history about Malaysia and Georgetown before we set out on foot.

Joann is incredibly knowledgeable about the people, culture, architecture, art etc of Penang…I learned so much.

Very highly recommended. Thank you Joann‬

‪Amazing Tour of Historic George Town‬

‪This was my first visit to George Town and I thought a tour might be a good idea. Joann did what she said and more! Joann asked me what I was interested in and designed the tour for me. Joann was extremely generous with her time and I certainly received very good value for my money. Joann knows George Town inside out and has a deep understanding of Penang as well as the rest of Malaysia. I thoroughly recommend doing a tour with George Town Walks. ‬

‪Fantastic tour of George Town‬

‪What a fantastic tour of George Town we had with the knowledgeable and charming Joann. After finding out what we were interested in (everything!) before we met she gave us a historical overview, and a walking tour that included art, food, architecture, culture. It was very enjoyable and we tried food and had places recommended that it would have been hard to know about. It was the highlight of our trip to George Town. Thanks Joann!‬
