If you like history, visit both this Fort and the exhibition at the Old Courthouse. They detail the Brooke family who ruled Sarawak for 100 years. Take a sampan over the river to the Fort - only 1 ringgit each way.

Definitely recommend this. We hired a boat to go across the river & walked up the hill (slowly in the heat) to the Fort. I would usually spend about 5 minutes on each floor & exit in a museum, but this one really captured our imagination. It has been done really well, and the photographs & captions describe the history of Sarawak so well. The stairs between each floor aren't easy, but it's well worth exploring all floors. It really whet our appetite to find out more about the history of Borneo.

A good place to recap some history. But just hope that they can do a good maintenance in their toilet. Horrible view

A must visit location if you are visiting Kuching City. The fort is easily accessible by river crossing from Sarawak Waterfront. A brief walk takes you to the fort premises.
The building is well-maintained and an entry fee of RM 15 provides access to various levels of the fort housing rich history of colonial occupation and history o rajahs of Sarawak.
The rooftop commands amazing views of the surrounding and distant views of the Sarawak River.

The fort is refurbished and converted into a museum which showcases the beginning of Sarawak and the development it has gone through. A good place to go for history lovers! The building is also well maintained and there are certain areas which display the bricks used to build the fort. However, it will be more convenient to get there by car.

Denn in Kuching herrschten die Weißen Rajahs, die Brook Familie. Im Fort kann man einiges über die Familie lernen. Auch ist es architektonisch interessant

Bangunan ini berada di Waterfront. Nuansa putih dan cocok buat foto. Kalo ga salah saya tepat di depan bangunan ini terdapat Old Courthouse

.... Da muss man auch die Brook Galerie im Fort besuchen. Interessante Sammlung von Bildern aus der Zeit der Ca 100 Jahre Regierung durch die Brook Famlie

Are you metal images taken from the Heroes monument? Most didn't seem to be there on the museum grounds. And Esca, he is a Brooke too?

I have only taken pictures from inside the building and rooftop.
Esca is a Brooke too, son of Charles Brooke.
There is quite a bit of history brought together in this museum.
