This castle was easy to visit on the way back from Ras Al Jin. Half a dinar to enter and had the place to ourselves. Toilets are very nice and clean if you need a stop.

a vista da cidade de sur pelo forte é bem bonita, mas tirando isso não é um local imperdível. Poucas informações e pouco para ver. Compensa muito mais ir somente no forte de Nizwa.

... auch von außen ist sie eine durchaus passable Erscheinung.
Das Fort steht zwar nur auf einem sanften Hügel, aber man sollte durchaus einmal hinauffahren (freier Parkplatz!), denn man hat von dort einen schönen Blick auf die Stadt und die sie umklammernden Gewässer.

Ça prend quelques minutes pour en faire le tour. Rénovation du fort et des alentours, sûrement très récente. Belle vue sur la ville et la mer.

The castle itself is quite plain and seems to have been over-modernised in the sense that the walls, steps, tower etc are all smooth and uniform and give no impression of age. If you are visiting Sur it would be worth calling in but I’m not sure you would make a detour too much out of your way just to visit the castle. However it does allow you to have some great views over the surrounding area including the neighbouring mosque.

If you are in Sur this is a great quick stop for photography. Lots of pretty pottery, etc. Great viewing and photo opportunities of the town. We were on a cruise excursion so we had good explanation and information but if you are on your own I did not notice a lot of info but still interesting to see. You probably only need less than 30 minutes to cover it all and take photos.

Fort somme tout classique, pas le plus beau d'Oman, mais la vue d'en haut est très belle. Donc pour cela cela vaut le coup.

Very nice to see it, and the history behind this castle and the others makes the visit more then worth

This Fort is very similar to all the other forts in Oman. Few things inside. But great view over Sur. A guide will give you some information.

Visita interessante e magnifico panorama sulla città di Sur. Buona accessibilità e materiale informativo di qualità. Ampio parcheggio e facile accessibilità. E' divertente camminare sulle mura e nelle torri
