The different exhibitions being shown are quite amazing, including the artifacts and how the experience is shown to you. Crazy that it's free for visitors.

I live in Guangzhou for several years, and have been to the Museum several times. A beautiful architecture from outside and abundant exhibitions going on inside all year round. Travelling in Guangzhou is not so difficult except for some language problems until recently the GZ government has had an interpretation hotline(+8620960169), which can provide great service for public affairs and government services. I used several times taking taxi and asking for directions, the interpreters are quite professional.

Maybe it was because I went early when the museum opened at 9:00am, and therefore, was the only one there, but I absolutely loved the exhibition, including the artifacts and layout!
While I only went to see this particular exhibition, I will return to see the rest of the museum, as it is extraordinary and just a well-organized facility with great design and implementation.
I shudder to think what it's like when crowded, but on a Wednesday morning at 9am, it couldn't have been better!

The museum is interesting enough and if you find yourself in Zhujiang New Town (more than likely) you can make a stop here for some shelter from the heat or rain. Best thing about the museum is that it is free!
The museum is very new with large open spaces and currently offers exhibits on the Longmen Grottoes, Chaozhou woodcarvings and duanxi inkstone. There was little English used to describe individual displays and some introductions were only in Chinese.
Our favourite area of the museum is the natural resources area that goes over provincial wildlife, rocks and fauna. This area also seems to promote national parks in Guangdong as there is now a few we want to visit after seeing the pictures.There is a small dinosaur area as well and there is a very entertaining area with theories for extinction riddled with spelling errors.

The GZ Museum is really amazing. Lots of rooms and floors with some excellent exhibits. Really worth a visit if you are in the city.

Just bring your passport and enjoy the day for free at the museum. Lots to see here. My kids love the dinosaur bone exhibit. Great place to learn about some of China and Guangdong's history. Also check the website to find which day they are closed. Went there and it was closed...

5個不同的展館，入場後可隨意選擇，現在正在展出的有關於潮州木雕，還有潮汕工匠傢俬，另有希臘珠寶首飾，我最後參觀了廣珐琅展。全部有不同特色。館內有café可有輕食醫肚。

This museum has a lot of info about Guangdong Province and is well placed near several metro stops. It is closed on Mondays. Parts were under renovation so there were a couple exhibits closed when I went. Overall, it’s a great museum, though there isn’t much in the gift shop.

If you were not tired and wanted inside exploration and have the patience to go through detailed explanation with every section, this is the place for you. Exhibits are nicely displayed and are thought provoking. Make sure to take the ID with you as it is needed for the entry. Entry is free but not sure how to get the audio guide which i missed.

What metro stop do I get off to get to this museum and is the museum open on Mondays?

Hello,
I was there, sometime ago and there are two ways to reach the museum. One is by the APM line,which will get you nearer to the museum. The other is the regular subway line. I, can't remember, the station name, but you can easily google it.
The library is next to the museum.
