Agree reading all the reviews, we decided to go to this amazing place. We booked a Didi, cost around 90 RMB. Then, the driver dropped us closer to the exhibition hall, that than the underground museum.
We payed low season tickets (55 RMB) and weren't into the Exhibition hall. It was worth as the items there are nicely displayed, no English, thou. From there, we walked for about 12 minutes to the underground museum, and y mausoleum. The underground museum takes you right in front of the excavation. Then, walked around the Hill/Tomb, and reached the tower (East?). Reached there with little to see, yet interesting.
I completely recommend this place as a must.
There were maybe 10 people around all of the four main places.
We felt like the white place was there for us only.

This is not a tour for everyone. Some might feel its a let down if you see the Terracotta Warriors, but that is because the warriors are so massive, but this Tomb is a wonderful counter point to the Warriors.
Size isn't everything and the fact you have class floors that you walked on top of the tunnels and so much is still left in place its a completely different experience.
If you want to see and understand more about China and its history its well worth a visit. If you are a person worried about ticking off boxes of the "big sites" you can pass it by, but its a truly unique Tomb.

Came here after visiting the terracotta warriors site. The entire site is located underground with many of the relics dating back hundreds of years. For this who have an appreciation for historical artifacts, this is a good place to visit together with the warriors site. Some of the areas could have been better lit up for visibility but still a worth a visit.

Though the mausoleum was not as grand as the Qin emperor, it has its scale of being massive. The clay figurines and accompaniments were small in scale. Qin had them made to life size.

Très intéressante visite toujours bien guide par notre guide JING.
Plus généralement les quelques jours passés à XI'AN avec notre guide se sont très bien déroulés, visites très intéressantes avec des commentaires avisés de notre accompagnatrice,toujours bienveillante.
Je recommande (ainsi que mes compagnons de voyage) la visite de cette de XI'AN (et ses environs, si vous êtes guidée par JING, là ce sera un "must".

Fascinating ! Unlike the well known Terracotta army these figures are about two thirds full size. The pits are covered in glass so you can walk around on the glass wearing plastic shoe covers. Light levels are low to protect the colours and flash photography is, of course, not permitted but the gift shop has books with really good photos in them. This must be China's best kept archaeological secret as very few people were there and we could take our time.

Come nel caso dell'esercito di terracotta, anche questa è una tomba reale dove c'è ancora tanto da scoprire. Il sito è sulla strada dell'aeroporto e può essere visitato in occasione di un trasferimento all'aeroporto. Le rovine sono sotto il livello della strada e ci sono molte statuine che rappresentano fatti di vita quotidiana. Si passa sopra lastre trasparenti che consentono di vedere gli scavi sottostanti. Moderna la tecnica espositiva.

Estuvimos el 28/10/19 en esta tumba del emperador Jingdi de la dinastía Han donde se encuentran las 80 fosas fúnebres con diversas longitudes, existen unas 6.000 figuras descubiertas, aunque se cree que hay muchas más, son figuras en miniatura, todos distintos que representan su disposición a proteger al emperador y su esposa, miden sobre 60 cms. de altura, sin brazos. El ambiente del museo es de silencio y con poca luz. Sin duda merece la pena visitar este monumento aunque sea menos conocido que los Guerreros de Terracota.

We visited this museum with our guide after the Terracotta Warriors. It was excellent and fairy empty. It's about an hour away from the Teraccotta Warriors and an hour out of town (assuming you're staying in / near the old city walls). Very well worth the visit - especially with a guide. Fascinating and really unique site.

It was fairly interesting. The only problem is that it's a huge area and although there is an electric vehicle that is supposed to take visitors around we did not know how to access it, flagging it down didn't work, so we ended up walking for ages. The upside is that it's usually relatively quiet, so if you want to avoid crowds this is perfect. We took the local bus there, but be aware that it only runs every hour or so.

Bus query return journey.
The bus to Tomb of Emperor Jingdi (Hanyangling) Xian.
I understand from great reviews, only how about the return trip ? Is the return bus exactly the same number and pickup point from where it drops you of ? Many thanks

Yes, it will be at the same pickup point. In fact, the bus will stop there for quite a while before making the return trip to Xi'an.
