I really enjoyed walking through here in the snow. It amazed me to see all the lake around this park frozen over in ice and snow. Also interesting to see the kids tabogganing down the slopes.

Lovely to see the snow falling amongst the trees and sculptures. Lots of fun activities for kids May have a different vibe in Summer

Saw the park in snow and it was truly picturesque! Untouched snow across the lake and atop of trees is both calming and tranquil. Definitely worth a visit to the park when in Sapporo. A 10mins walk from Susukino.

After leaving Nakajima-koen Station on the subway, you will find a large park on the south side of the park and then on the north side. The Sosei River runs through the park, and there is a large pond that uses water from that river, and the park has several shrines and a concert hall at the museum and athletic center.

It was by the hotel, so I went.
It was beautifully maintained and comfortable.
There are just so many crows.
There are also trips and boat rides.
There is a puppet theater inside, but it may be fun for the interested and families with children

This is a good place for walking, because the hotel happens to be nearby. I took advantage of a little time in the morning to come to Nakajima Park. There is a mini Iris Lake in the center. This ecology looks comfortable and natural, and it is very suitable for a walk after eating. place. Very relaxing place. A lot of beautiful wisteria flowers happened to be blooming at this time, which was very pleasing to the eye.

Nakajima Park is one of Sapporo's popular green oases - even when the park is dressed in winter garb with towering snowdrifts.
There is a poetry to the place that is so typical of Japan. The view of the ancient mountains and the millions of years newer skyscrapers is like a picture of the traditional, hyper-modern Japanese society.

Hama Detached Palace Garden
It is not the plum blossom,
early to bloom this year,
nor the overwhelming field of waist-high yellow flowers in this garden,
that caught our attention, nor even the children
racing through them, as if their lives
might depend upon them,
but the gnarled black branches of the plum blossom trees –
each more unique, more expressive, in their beauty
than the other, than anyone could describe –
that found their way to our hearts,
more profoundly, more powerfully,
than anyone could say.
And yet, our ancient souls are swept away,
more quickly than ashes after a fire, after the conflagration,
after passion has had its say, after the petals of the plum blossom tree
have been swept away by the wind.
And yet, here they perdure,
these gnarled black branches,
so startling in their configurations, in their paths,
in their beauty, in their legacy.

We visited on October 10, 2023. It's probably a couple of weeks before peak autumn colours but still worth a visit. There is a lake with some ducks and it felt peaceful. A section called 日本庭園 (literally Japanese Garden) is particularly picturesque. Good for a stroll or just sitting around breathing in the fresh air and relaxing. Highly recommended.

Hi Jasnakate!
The lake area around Nakajima Park is great for phototaking. In fact, the lake area occupied the central spot of the park, you wouldn't miss it. Around the lake are different varieties of trees: willows, maples etc.
If you come by subway, take Exit 3 which is the nearest exit to Nakajima Park. In any case, the other 2 exits are not far away.
Suggest to come in the early morning or late evening where the park is cooler and where there are fewer tour groups visiting.

I am visiting Japan and is currently in Osaka. I am heading to Tokyo tomorrow. I heard about the "red leaf" season in Sapporo and is considering making a quick trip to Sapporo to see this. Could anyone recently visited Sapporo kindly advise me if the tree leaf has turned red yet and where is the best place to see this. I am a tropical country and is very excited seeing this?
