We took the rope way to the top of the mountain. The view is great.
There are many nice spots for photo taking. You may wish to chill out at the beer garden and restaurant. There are booths selling Christmas gifts and decorations. It was beautiful sight and moods was really good.

Amazing views and lots of different flowers and herbs to look at. Underrated venue in Kobe, definitely recommend especially for the panoramic views of Kobe. Went during the end of year Christmas market and it was fun as well!

Great experience with fun ropeway ride to the top allowing magnificent views of Kobe and out to Osaka on a clear day. Beauytiful gardens with interesting plants and herbs to see as you stroll down the hill. Beautifully landscaped. There's several eating options and places to sit down to rest including great outdoor hammocks. You can set off on a separate bushwalking trails as well. Must for any visitor to Kobe.

A beautiful garden situated on a hill above Kobe. Access to the top is by a cable car. It's a steep walk down with some stairs.

連休に行ったため、ロープウェイに乗るための長蛇の列。ただ乗ると快適で神戸の街を一望しながら終点へ。終点から中間駅まで歩いて、探索しながら下って行きました。道は急坂ですが、途中に色々なハーブや花が植えられていて、また神戸の街を一望できて楽しい時間でした。今の時期はチューリップが満開できれいでした。時間があり、体力がある方は下から歩いて登ってきたら花やハーブを楽しめますよ。

Highly recommend taking the ropeway to the herb garden. The ride was very scenic and garden has a variety of fragrances for you to smell. A good place for couples and for families.

Great experience, here is what I recommend.
Get the cable car up about 2-3pm to get the nice views. Stop for an arancini and soup at the top and a Weissbier, it’s weird getting German cuisine in Kobe but hey there are nice tables with flowers and classical music playing.
Then walk down to Kobe, you will see the herb gardens, the observatories ie greenhouses and get multiple points with views across the Kobe and wider Osaka bay. By now it’ll be 4pm and you’ll be reaching golden hour. There are deck chairs at points if you want a rest and even in October, there are plenty of flowers, making for nice pictures.
If you have some decent footwear and don’t mind a short downhill hike then walk past the middle cable car station, walk to the dam and then the waterfalls. It’s a bit isolated, not many people but you are walking in nature and the paths are safe and maintained. Finish by the waterfall and get the last views of sunset over Kobe about 5pm.

A very different world awaits at the top of the mountain - there's plenty of flowers and herbs grown around the top and on the mountain. You can take a leisurely stroll inspecting all the various types of herbs from fragrant, craft, cooking and tea. Check out the fragrance garden at the back!

Can we bring food from outside like breads and sandwiches, can drinks, etc to the Herb garden and all the other places on the hill? I saw some pictures of people laying picnic mat and baskets at the middle of the hill. We will be taking the ropeway up to the top and walk down to middle station and take the ropeway down to the bottom.

I don’t remember seeing any restrictions. There were buildings with cafes within the grounds. But there are a lot more open fields for you to just sit and picnic!

Hello, I'd like to visit Nunobiki herb garden and the ropeway on January 14th, which is Coming of Age day in Japan. Are the ropeway and herb garden opened that day? And Herb garden website says there is a 2 week maintenance weeks in winter, when is it?

ハーバーランドから新神戸間でバスも運行しているようです。みなと観光バス、ハーバーランド線、所要時間25分。アンパンマンミュージアムから徒歩4分の「モザイク前」バス停があるようです。ご参考まで。

inside Shin Kobe station you will see signs to the gardens. From the station you go tgrough a mall. Inside the mall its a little confusing but once you find your way out of the mall you will see signs to the gardens, very easy to find once outside, the prible we had was getting out of the mall lol....

ハーブ園には新神戸駅からロープウェイで行き来します。帰りもロープウェイで新神戸駅へ降りてください。所要10分ほどです。新神戸駅からは神戸市営地下鉄で1駅2分で三ノ宮駅です。
