徒歩で散策しようと進んでいた際、たまたま同店の前を通りかかり予約無しでも借りられる自転車利用に変更しました。
市内中心部の平地を廻るだけだった為、最も安い変速機無しスタンダードタイプを借りました。税込800円は標準的と云えそうで、自転車の整備もきちんと行われており便利に利用出来ました。
因みにインバウンド旅行者の利用者が目立っていました🚲

Excellent, les vélos sont en très bon état ce qui est rare sur Kyoto (surtout au niveau des freins). Nous nous sommes trompés sur la date du retour et le gérant ne nous a pas fait payer de supplément. Je recommande fortement pour en avoir essayé énormément dans la ville. Merci

단순한 대중교통이나 도보 이동을 넘어 교토를 천천히 둘러보기에 자전거가 훌륭한 대안입니다. 교토의 지형이 대부분 평지이고 자전거 전용도로부터 자전거 문화가 크게 보편화된 곳이라 초보 라이더에게도 편리합니다. 그리고 자전거를 빌리고자 한다면 J-Cycle 추천합니다.
J-Cycle 직원 분들 다 친절하시고 영어 또한 가능합니다. 정비기술자가 상주하시기 때문에 대여 전 점검이 빠지지 않고, 자전거 운행 관련 각종 정보는 물론 주요 코스, 자전거 주자장 위치, 지도 등 타는데 지장이 없도록 안내해 주십니다. 비용은 대중교통 서너 번 이용하는 것 이상이지만 교토를 느긋하게 다른 시점에 볼 수 있다는 게 큰 장점입니다.
대부분 평지이지만 금각사나 은각사 등 시내 중심지에서 벗어난 명소는 지대가 상대적으로 높은 곳에 있기 때문에 자전거를 자주 안 타시는 분에게는 싱글기어(생활자전거)가 조금 힘들 수 있습니다. 이런 경우 21단 MTB가 오히려 좋을 것 같습니다.

We hired the 3 speed bikes for the day, Kyoto is a relatively flat city so we saw no real need for the electric ones. Staff speak basic english which is nice and the bikes are well maintained.
Biking is awesome here as there as designated bike lanes everywhere and cars are courteous to bikes.
Overall a pleasant experience and i recommend them when in Kyoto.

The bikes are very well maintained. I rented the electric bike which was amazing and very comfortable to ride for long distances. The staff is amazing and very helpful. I recommend their service. Thank you Jcycle

We hired electric bikes for the day and had a fantastic time riding around Kyoto. I’m extremely unfit and found it so easy to ride everywhere. Electric bike was very kind to me. The staff were great and the pricing was very good. Definitely recommend doing this if in Kyoto.

Rien à dire de négatif, les vélos éléctriques sont un vrai plus et très bien entretenus !
J’ai vraiment apprécié la sympathie du vendeur et le fait qu’il prenne bien le temps de nous expliquer comment fonctionne les vélos. Il nous a même fait une réduction car nous avions loué les vélos dans la seconde moitié de la journée.
Personnel qui parle bien anglais c’est un vrai plus également! Tarifs très abordables et on peu louer pour vraiment pas cher des accessoires !

I intended to rent a bike for a few days to explore Kyoto, and walked 15 minutes to closing worried that they would tell me it was too late..but the staff was really friendly and kind. They answered all the questions I had and provided me a brochure and bike parking information/locations. They were patient and rented me a really great bike that was comfortable. I did the 3-speed bike that basically felt like new, and I also paid to rent the phone holder and the insurance (because I was only there for such a short time and it was honestly pretty cheap). I had a great time biking Kyoto for the two days. The bike held up as I biked 9.5km to Arashiyama and back! But on the second day, overall I was having a bad day and I lost my bike key leaving my stranded at Kyoto Imperial Palace. I was really anxious and unsure of what to do, but I kept the brochure they gave me and I found a pay phone and gave them a call. Through the phone, they were able to schedule a way for some employees to deliver a spare bike key..and they did so in a timely manner! I finally got my bike unlocked and was able to return my bike on time. I was very grateful and would love to rent a bike from them again the next time in in Kyoto!

Wij huurden hier twee degelijke stadsfietsen a ¥800. Die met 3 versnellingen waren tegen 10.45 uur al op. Efficiënt intake proces. Wij huurden onze fietsen tot de volgende ochtend 10 uur tegen ¥400 pp extra. Zaak gaat pas om 10 uur open. Goede keus in Kyoto.

Whatever, you came for a bike, everyone wins.

3. you are not obese and missed legs day, so:
Stretch your tourist legs on a 3 speed, it is more than enough.
1. one of the safest countries in the world, but
2. push for insurance, but
3. you have travel insurance, so:
Park responsibly and don't get insurance.
1. review speaks of harrowing roads, but
2. these might be the quietest roads you will ever encounter, but
3. reviewer admits 'hasn't been on a bike in years', so:
Man up. Take the bike and do away with the 7 independently owned railway lines in Kyoto. Have breakfast at Takagi Coffee around the corner for a legit experience. If you take the bike overnight you can easily cycle out to the Bamboo Forest through the quiet back streets of Kyoto, while visiting several shrines along the way, take lunch, ride along the river to Fushimi Inari shrine for sundown and enjoy the lights at night.

Hi, our family is planning to visit Kyoto on 20 December, will the weather be nice to bike around? We have no experience riding bike in the snow. And how early do we need to reserve bike rental? Is it possible to walk in and rent a bike without making reservation?

There is snow sometimes in Kyoto although it is not so heavy.
You can try to ride first.

Thank you for your mail. Yes, we have 2 types of child seat. Front child seat for child from 1 year old to 3 years old and 15 kg in weight or less. Back child seat for child from 2 year old to 5 years old and 20 kg in weight or less.
