Great place for hiking, many tracks, well maintained, one can observe trees, insects, mushrooms & birds. You can have family picnic, do river play, one thing to take note, the monkeys. Carpark is limited at Taman Persekutuan Bukit Kiara, but most people will park around the mosque. Packed every morning, especially on the weekends. Please keep this place clean, so everyone can enjoy.

BK park is closed during current MCO. Many people walk up from car park to guard house obviously to get some strength walking uphill and down
Maybe good for nature to be given a break from us human to regenerate !

The hike to twin peaks can take up to an hour from guardhouse. You will pass through a bamboo Grove.
You may be sharing the mountain biker trail so shout 'bike' loudly to forewarn the biker or fellow hikers
Compared with Bukit wawasan aka puchong hill or Kota Damansara s Denai 3, the BK jungle trail is less demanding.
You can get lost as there are no markers to the summit but there will be plenty of fellow hikers whom are kind enough to point the way.

After 3 months of lockdown both Bukit Kiara park is reopened . The mountain as well as the lake Park.
Of course hard core trail hikers found their way up the jungle trail bypassing MCO rules.
for those law abiding, just do your temperature check and record your name on my sejahtera, you ll good to go.
for the fern lovers, there are plenty of ferns you can spot in the jungle trails and tree ferns on the river trails.
We are blessed the hungry and corrupt developers have not seized the jungle to build bungalows. Looking at the daily numbers of hikers, the park should be preserved as a state Park for their future generations. Unfortunately little is left of the primary forests that was here before it was turned to rubber estates

No public toilet once you get in the park. The management should provide at least one or few toilet or portable toilet, that’s the basic amenities! My friend had to go down again and walk all the way from top of park to near the school to go to the toilet.

I have been here twice and i daresay till now I am confused of the trails,unless you're using the tarmac path,just stick to it.If you're using the forest trails it gets very confusing.
The trail paths next to the fencing can be slippery with gravel and there's nothing to hold on too,please be wary.The trail to the summit peak isn't that high but if you're using, the entrance from the highway be prepared for a steep climb from the pylon.
Try not to hike alone on the trails,plenty of snakes too.

The pathway up the hill via the metalled road is now blocked due to Landslide and massive rainfall in Dec 2019
As a result you ll need to use alternate mountian trail to hike back in the main road on 2nd security guardhouse.
If you are a foreigner, do not smile at monkeys as they think you r challenging them. Just don't look them in the eyes esp the alpha male.

Instead of the park, I headed for the hill to walk around, A lot of monkeys, It would take a few hours to complete all the trails. Many people walk around here

Hi. I'm planning to hike up Bukit Kiara with another friend and both of us have no experience in hiking and have never been to any such areas in MY. I see from the videos that there are monkeys and wild dogs. Just wondering if we should be worried that we're going there on a weekday and there might not be many people (or maybe none?) at that time of the week. Is there a number we can call in case of emergency? Thank you so much in advance.

Hi, if i am planning for a long hike up with some views, where should i start?
Is there a recommended parking space there?

There are 2 car parks. The first is the one in front of the lake, parallel to Jln. Abang Hj. Openg. This gets filled up quickly especially on weekends. To reach the second you need to drive furthur up the road on Jln. Tun Mohd. Fuad to reach Chankat Hj. Openg - this up a hill - you park here and walk up the hill - good road but can be strenous - good views of PJ and KL up the hill.

You can have a picnic as there are little pagodas for you to sit and chill. But depends on how many people you have with you... (there will be joggers and walkers running, walking past you though!)
Also, if you do have a picnic, please make sure you take all your trash with you as there are a lot of monkeys.
You might be better off going to the other Bukit Kiara Park further down the road or Hutan Rimba Park which is also not far from this park and there are loads of spaces for picnic and pot luck.
