On a hunt for gifts to take home to our family we were thankful to find this amazing little gem. Beautifully laid out shop with a nice range of notebooks, canvas pouches, necklaces, bracelets, rings, pendants, key rings and phone covers. All with a small touch of the Maldives woven into each item. With great prices and service, we managed to find gifts for the whole family in one place.

Ich habe per Zufall den Oevaali Art Shop im
Internet entdeckt und mich gleich in die Schmuckstücke/Handyhüllen verliebt. Ich musste mir einfach ein paar Teile bestellen! Da wir im April 2021 die Malediven besucht haben, habe ich mit Raya abgemacht, dass sie mir die Artikel direkt auf meine gebuchte Insel sendet. Es hat alles super geklappt! Auch wenn ich Fragen per Mail hatte, wurden die immer schnell zuverlässig und kompetent beantwortet. Als ich dann auf den Malediven angekommen bin und die Artikel gesehen habe, war ich soo begeistert!! Die Schmuckstücke Manta Ray Pendant in Pearl und Turtle Pendant in Pearl beide Rosé Gold sind einfach nur wunderschön!Vielen Dank für den super Service!!

This small, locally-owned art store is a must-see in Mali. The owners are two sisters and two brothers and I spent a lovely evening with one of them--Raya, who was kind enough to tell me more about her process and even to give me tips for exploring the islands. The store has beautiful coasters, trays, keychains, pendants, journals, sketchpads, and fragrant soy candles you'll want as souvenirs or as gifts to take back with you. Inspired by water, many of the pieces here are made of swirls of blue and green, slate and copper.
There are so many stores in Male that sell kitschy souvenirs--if you're looking for authentic, lovingly-crafted, one-of-a-kind pieces and you want to support local artists, this is the place for you. It's a wonderful feeling to buy something and to have the owner of the store beam at you and say "I made that."
