We have just returned home from a week at Borovets with 5 days of private lessons. All I can say is this ski school was fabulous. Half the group had intermediate and half beginner/low intermediate lessons. My instructor, Teddy, was so approachable, kind and caring. She was super patient as I lacked confidence. For anyone that may be slightly scared but up for the challenge, I recommend this ski school and instructor. We will return this December!

First time using hunters for private ski lessons and equipment hire. Firstly the gents that do the daily equipment issue don't mess about, you've got your kit within seconds. For the private lessons I had two instructors as I progressed from Beginner to Intermediate, they are called 'Teddy' and 'Yuri'. They where absolutely fantastic, very patient and pushed you out of your comfort zone to learn, by the end of my weeks holiday I was parallel skiing down black runs. They are genuine good human beings and I highly recommend them to everyone. Thankyou for the fantastic experience.

Had to retype my review as I realised I accidentally gave 4 stars instead if 5!! We visited as a family of 6 and chose hunters as our ski school. Due to varying abilities in our group, we had two instructors - Teodora (Teddy) and Yuri, and they were absolutely fantastic! All of us have improved our ski skills so much and feel more confident in our abilities. We were pushed to our limits and all tried new slopes and pathways which we wouldn't have done on our own. Teddy and Yuri were so helpful, friendly, and knowledgable on and off the slopes with their recommendations of the local area and we are so grateful to have skied with them for four days. We will definitely be returning within the next year. Thank you so much for a very enjoyable and memorable holiday. It wouldn't have been the same without Yuri and Teddy!

The ski hire was ok, it was really difficult to communicate with the staff even though my English is great, theirs isn't so much. The equipment is located near the entrance to the Flora hotel, really close to the office and thats really close to the ski resort which makes it a great place to start from.
After we managed to get the right equipment we were introduced to our guide Nadia which was great! We took private lessons together even though we were one beginner and one intermediate and the attention she gave us was extraordinary! We learned a lot and practiced a lot. Eventually we finished the lessons with great improvement and continued on our own (after 3 days-4 hours each day) according to her suggestions and guidance.

Another fantastic week with Hunters Ski School.
This was the seventh time using then and they are the Number1 in Borovets.
I had new Head Super Shape skis that were fantastic,
The guys in the depot (Flora Hotel) were super helpful and they looked after our (own) boots every night making sure there were dried overnight ready for the next day. Nothing was too much trouble
Supervisor Ivan Dodov, was always on hand to answer any questions and make sure everybody got sorted out every day into the right groups and skied with people of the same level. Very professional set up and he made sure we had a great experience every day.
They have a great website for booking and I really like that you can see all the prices in a very transparent way
Overall a 5 Star experience and will use again in 2023 and highly recumbent to anybody looking for a Ski School, equipment hire or tuition (or all three) .

Just got back from our trip to borovets and we used Hunters ski school for both our equipment and for beginner lessons for my wife. Equipment was great lots of choice in boots, helmets etc, facilities were always clean and the guys in the depot are great, supervisor Ivan really helpful as well. My wife who’s a beginner had Georgi as her instructor who was really good by the end of the week she was confidently on blue sloops which she’s really happy about. Definitely use hunters again if we were to return.

I hired skis for 1 week from Hunter's and received excellent service from all staff who were all very helpful! The skis were brand new and in great condition. I also got a private ski lesson from Ivan which was, by far, the best lesson I have received. He was very friendly and patient and helped me improve my technique a lot. I would highly recommend Hunter's Ski School to anyone visiting Borovets!

Not long back from an excellent week in Borovets. Firstly, I'm disappointed to read the negative reviews - definitely not deserved and guess some people need to learn a little patience during a very busy half-term.
We've used Hunters Ski School a few times over the years and once again, they did not disappoint. They consistently provide 5 star equipment and a 5 star service.
We hired skis and poles and had ski lessons and cannot fault either. The standard of the equipment is excellent with the staff even offering to keep our own boots warm and dry each night instead of us having to trail them back to our hotel. The staff remembered us each day without us having to show out ticket. They were really friendly and helpful even on the busy days when they were clearly flat out.
Hunters provide some of the best ski lessons in the resort in my opinion. My daughter had a 1-1 lesson and learned so much taking her skiing to the next level. Special shout out to Ivan, who works really hard to ensure all customers are happy and get the service they expect.
Would not hesitate to recommend Hunters Ski School to anyone, nothing is too much trouble and the experience cannot be faulted. Give them a try, you will not be disappointed.

Apologies for the length of this review as there are negatives as well as positives.
The most important thing this company need to do is improve their process for getting and measuring up your equipment vs collecting your equipment daily. It was not organised or efficient and left lots of people queueing and 'moaning' about the wait. Fix this and you'd have a great service.
Day 1 - we were total beginners. We had the boots placed in front of us with no offer of help. There was an assumption we'd know what to do!! We didn't have a clue how to put them on. It was busy but we were made to feel a bit of an inconvenience. On a positive - once we got our stuff and met our instructor we had a fantastic day 1. :)
Day 2 - we needed to collect our skis etc and meet the instructor at the Gondola at 0930hrs. We got to the ski collection point just after 0900hrs.
The place was bedlam. Loads of people being measured up, queues out the door and no system.
I waived my card and explained we just needed to collect our stuff so we could meet our instructor. No one was interested. I went to the office where the two ladies looked at me and said 'its busy', shrugging shoulders. They couldn't care less.
I found the supervisor, who was very nice and appeared organised. I stressed that if we couldn't get our stuff we would miss the time to meet our instructor at the Gondola and he said don't worry he will wait for you. He made a phone call so I assumed he had spoken to our instructor. (Found out later that he had left a voicemail of which unfortunately wasn't picked up).
Eventually we got our ski stuff and by now we were 30 minutes late.
Got to the Gondola and the instructor had already left (quiet rightly because there were others in the group - who had their ski equipment with them and didn't need to put themselves through the stress of collecting from the office!!). Mental note to self - if I go skiing again I'll keep my equipment with me !
We only knew our instructor had already left because another instructor told us and considering the Supervisor had told me he would wait, we thought perhaps that meant he would wait at the top of the Gondola. So off we went on our first ever journey on the Gondola. Bad mistake. Here we are, total beginners - Day 2 and lost. Trying to find our instructor ended up in an injury for one of our group who subsequently couldn't ski again!!
In hindsight we should not have left the ski collection office late. We should have demanded they take ownership and provide us with another instructor. The whole situation was caused by their lack of organisation.
On a positive - our instructor was fantastic - Krasi.
I would highly recommend you ask for him. He spoke excellent English and really did teach well. Building our skills slowly and confidently.
Krasi is a credit to this company.
Another positive is our equipment really was great. We had only booked 3 days hire, and did hire from other places later in our trip - but the skis and boots didn't seem as 'serviced', if that makes sense. I did feel safe with their equipment.
The person who had the accident was given ski school and equipment reimbursement but not for the lift pass.

Had a great 6 days with group snowboard lessons as total beginners. Simon and Chris were very helpful and the school was helpfully flexible with us starting the lessons as beginners mid week. Class sizes were small when we visited which was a bonus. We were both thrilled to be putting turns together down blue runs by the end of the trip.

We had 2 beginners and 4 intermediate/more advanced.
The beginners group was around 8-10 people on first day, but a few left and during week was smaller group of about 7.
Intermediate group again started about 8 first day then people left and by end of the week there were 5 of us which was great.
So up to you. My advice would be if you are of a similar level then book a private group Of 6 for you all with one instructor.

My partner & I used to meet in the Silver Fox which is a little way up the slope. That is where the ski instructors seem to have lunch so that was our daily meeting place.

We are clising 17.30 today but you can drop the ski gear back to Silver Fox restaurant ski depot which is working till 10.00 pm
Please make sure you will take your shoes from the curent depo before

Please note that we can take 9 years old in to children full ski pack and 14 years one in to juniour full ski pack ! Both of them will have lessons 2 hours in the morning and than 2 hours in the afternoon which ends between 14.30 and 15.30 depends from the start time in the morning

Normally the children ski classes meet by the bottom nursery slopes just across Flora Junior Hunters depot !!

Good morning.
I am traveling from South Africa in December with my wife and two son (13 and 14 years old) we are intermediate skiers and would like to book an instructor for 5 days.
I will also be traveling with another family from South Africa and they are beginners and would need to learn from the beginning. They would be 2 adults and two children (13 and 16)
Please let me know if you could assist us and what the costs would be
We are traveling from 23rd December till 30th December 2018.
