أغسطس 2021
‪Lovely church positioned right in the middle of the waterfront promenade, parts of which date back to 1280.‬

‪Kühler Kreuzgang, leider keine Sitzgelegenheit‬
أغسطس 2021

‪A bit of history‬
زوجان • نوفمبر 2019
‪A bit of history and a cool respite while visiting town on a hot day. Spent an hour or so walking around. Docent at the entrance was very kind and engaging, answered several questions for us. Artwork and artifacts are in a short museum style hall prior to entering monastery. The chapel was undergoing construction but we were still able to walk thorough and there is a very nice courtyard area with various reliefs, sculptures as well as fruit trees, tortoises (yes) and a cool, very, very old well in the center. We browsed around. It was very cool and quiet. Entry price was very affordable. ‬

‪Unfortunately the Monastery was under renovation when I visited Trogir.‬
أكتوبر 2019
‪This was one of the most interesting points I wanted to see in Trogir but unfortunately that was not possible due the renovation work. I hope the job soon completed and it is again possible to visit this monastery.‬

‪Blikvanger van TROGIR maar...‬
سبتمبر 2019

‪A beautiful church on the promenade‬
أغسطس 2019
‪In the Summer evenings, if you find yourself on the waterfront, you can hear an interesting tune from this church. The church is located very close to Kamerlengo Tower.‬

‪NON IMPERDIBILE, PERO'...‬
الأصدقاء • يونيو 2019

‪Gothic-Renaissance church with peaceful shady cloister‬
الأصدقاء • أكتوبر 2018
‪St. Dominic Monastery is on the southwest side of the island near the waterfront promenade. The church and cloister are open to the public (you might recognize some scenes from Game of Thrones, which were shot here). The Dominicans started an order in Trogir in the 1240s, and expanded to a monastery in the 1260s. Initial construction of a church began in the 1280s, with a single nave and narrow Gothic windows. In the second half of the 14th century the church was extended to the west and renovated in Renaissance style: a single nave with a rectangular choir, and wooden ceiling. The monastery was damaged in a 1944 bombing raid, but was later restored. The lunette of the main portal (by Niccolò Dente from Venice) features Mary holding the baby Jesus (center), Bishop Augustin Kazotic (left) and St Mary Magdalene (right, with long hair). Look for Dente's sister, Bitkula, pious matron of Trogir and donatrix, kneeling at the feet of the Bishop on the far left. Unfortunately, roof repairs in the church are ongoing, and scaffolding somewhat obscures the apse and interior decorations. The alter is a single stone lab on two uprights, echoing the simplicity of the rest of the church. At its height, the monastery was a complex of buildings arranged around a cloister: the church, choir, sacristy, bell tower, chapter hall, kitchen, refectory, locutory (where monks are allowed to converse with each other) and garden, while on the top there was dormitory and library. The monastic collection includes the buckle of a pluvial with a miniature and a polyptych of Blaz Jurjev of Trogir, as well as late Gothic reliquaries from the Dominican church of Holy Cross on Ciovo. The cloister is a peaceful place, with groined arches surrounding a lush garden with a well at the center and shaded by palm trees. It offers a shady retreat and respite from the crowds along the seafront promenade and old city. The church has irregular hours, and there is a small entry fee.‬

‪"Historic"‬
بمفردك • أكتوبر 2018
‪This lovely church sits on the waterfront in Trogir alongside the restaurants and small streets of the old town.
There is a small fee to get in but it is worth a visit to see the lovely church.
Inside there was some restoration work taking place by the alter but you could get some nice photographs.
There were lovely religious status around the church and also some marble artwork to admire.
The stone cloisters lead you into a lovely internal garden paved with plants and fruit trees. You can get some lovely photographs of the gardens as you wander through the ancient columns of the cloisters.
The church is in an idyllic setting positioned on the main promenade amongst palm trees,,it is one of the many historic buildings you can visit in Trogir.‬
