Kenzie and Brandon were awesome! Brandon got us out smoothly and got right to us when we surfaced. Kenzie was spectacular underneath as we dove through Canyon Reef and Moonlight. She pointed out multiple critters for me, including an octopus (that unfortunately squirted away before I could get a good picture). I will be back!

All I can say is that I loved diving with Coconut Tree Divers. Everybody was wonderful, as was the diving.
In eight years of diving I have over 160 dives with an assortment of dive ops in Florida and the Caribbean. Some were pretty good, some meh, one not very good at all. Coconut Tree was outstanding.
When I return to Roatan I will dive with them again.

Incredible!!
Thats the word I would use to describe coconut tree divers. Matt was an amazing instructor for our PADI open water course. Everyone is very friendly. A LOT of experience is present at the dive shop. They're quick and helpfull in email and in person.
Whats not to love about this place.

Not customer focused. Monty is very big into training dive masters and having them be a parallel line of income in addition to sport recreation divers. They were training numerous DMTs on side mounts and DMTs constituted a large proportion of divers on every one of our dives. As a result, being just a regular sport diver, we were an afterthought. Gay is sweet and helpful, but I'd rather go somewhere that is more focused on the recreational diver's experience.

Coconut Tree Divers is such a great dive shop. A year ago (April 2022) my wife and I went to them to get our PADI OW Certificate. We just went back this past week to spend a week with them fun diving. They did not disappoint. The people here are so friendly and go out of their way to make you feel safe and comfortable. They are dive professionals that follow the proper safety procedures, while keeping it fun at the same time. We did 11 divers at 11 different gorgeous locations. Each with its own unique characteristic. The DM's we dived with (John, Kira, David, Juan, and Brian) were the best. They each had their own way of making every dive a great experience. John with his confidence and knowledge of the marine life and reef. Kira with her exciting energy made even me feel comfortable doing my first dive in months and later my first night dive. David likes to take it slow and steady, making sure you don't miss a thing. His approach really makes for a relaxing dive with great views. Juan, and his young eagle eyes that can spot a cleaner shrimp at 50' away. Brian, who was in training, was great at keeping an eye out for everyone in the group on each dive. You could always count on him being close by if you needed anything.
The entire team is great, and they all work well together. Safety and reef preservation seem to be their number priority while having a fun and enjoyable experience. We were able to see so much marine life and beautiful formations. You can’t go wrong with Coconut Tree Divers weather you are new or a veteran diver.

Awesome place! We booked to practice and get educated to earn the "Scuba Diver" certificate, which btw, also credits you towards the PADI OpenWater certificate!
We didn't have any equipment at all, but they offered us theirs to borrow and just like that, we were ready for the first class.
Instructor speaks both english and spanish, fluently, to ensure you learn all instructions clearly in the language you're more comfortable with.
You will be trained in a safe confined water area, and the instructor will guide you step by step, all the way. Checking in each step that you understood completely and are capable of replicating the skills demonstrated. If you fail, worry not, just try again. Practice makes perfect. – The whole time, we felt very safe, so fear not... you're in good hands.
And of course, the location, ahhh the location, just awesome. It's in a perfect spot, literally in front of the beach. ✨

I had another dive scheduled, but got cancelled, I went to coconut tree divers and quickly got set up for 2 dives, very good shop and crew on the boats. I highly recommend this dive shop. The reef here speaks for itself and is a must see for any diver.

Fantastic operation! My boyfriend and I did 10+ dives with Coconut Tree and couldn’t be happier. We went to different dive sites each dive, which we really appreciated. Everyone that works at the shop is a gem! We felt like we were apart of the community, and had such a wonderful time. Highly recommend!!

Can’t recommend this place highly enough. The whole crew was amazing, great vibes in the shop, the appreciation of the local nature was infectious, and they did an awesome job fostering a communal feel with everyone there. It was a nice touch being able to use the same gear every day. David found us a rare frog fish which was a treat. Sadly no eagle rays but hey, that’s showbiz baby. Woulda given them 6 stars if we did see one. If you ain’t diving with these guys then what are you thinking???

We could not have picked a better dive shop for our family of five (three teenagers) to get our Open Water Certification. I searched reviews and contacted a few places. All of my emails from Coconut Divers were promptly replied to. I knew as soon as we walked in that we had chosen the right place. Check in was a breeze and we were immediately fitted for our gear and on our way. David, Ian and Kenzie were phenomenal instructors. We had the best three days with them. All of our kids left saying it was the coolest thing they have ever done and I can confidently say that we received superior instruction compared to friends of ours that have gone elsewhere. We are looking forward to diving with them again and gaining more experience.

do they pick you up from Carnival cruise terminal? is the transportation included in posted prices or do you have to pay extra?

But they do have a facebook page & so you could message them and ask if it's possible
My bet is that they would arrange it with you somehow

veo que sos de los que hace menos que estuviste en roatan
queria consultarte si estas al tanto, si se puede hacer buceo por un dia?
de esos cursos de principiantes que te dan en unas horas y solo te sumergis 6 metro abajo..?
ya que no somos certificadas pero queremos hacer buceo...y en punta cana hemos hecho de este estilo.

There is the option about having a fan or a/c in the room. For July to september. Do I really need a/c?

Yes, there is an option of shutting off the a/c unit, its a personal choice and you just have to ask. However the cabins have both fan and a/c as well as our classroom.

You should have visibility of around 100'. Lot of sea life and reefs, you will love it

Will be coming by cruise ship to take a scuba class who and how much should I give a gratuity to? , IE van driver that picks me up, the instructor, the dive captain and what is a fair tip?

We gave our dive master $20. Which went into a kitty to split between all parties. We thought that was fair, but that is just our take on it.
