Appena arrivati nell’isola di Koh Phangan ci siamo fatti chiamare un taxi dal resort per andare alla Salad Beach, spiaggia piuttosto vicina a dove alloggiavamo. Il modo migliore per spostarsi sull’isola e anche il più economico sarebbe noleggiare uno scooter, ma non avendolo mai guidato non ce la siamo sentita di cominciare proprio qui, che le strade non sono neanche così tranquille.
Parlando della spiaggia, a me è piaciuta tanto, ma va considerato che la marea è molto bassa specialmente nella prima parte della giornata e fare il bagno diventa così impossibile. Ci siamo spostati diverse centinaia di metri al largo e toccavamo anche stando in ginocchio… se amate fare il bagno non fa per voi. L’acqua è molto calda e i colori sono quelli di una spiaggia dei Caraibi, sabbia bianchissima e mare azzurro chiaro.
Non possono mancare poi i centri per i massaggi sulla spiaggia, così come per tutta l’isola. Per rilassarsi mezza giornata la Salad Beach è l’ideale.

Cool beach with a relaxed vibe, not busy at all when we visited (april 2023)...a couple of good bars and restaurants here, you won't go hungry or thirsty here... there's a cool palmtree at the very end of the beach, grown into an impossible angle, check it out!

Really enjoyed this beach. Relaxed atmosphere with a couple of bars. The water is clear and it is deep enough to swim and there is enough sea life to snorkel. The trees behind the beach make it more beautiful and because it is in a cove the sea is calmer than other areas on the same side of the island. Would definitely recommend.

The beach is stunning, soft powder sand and the most beautiful sunsets!
It appears to attract a lot of families and everywhere is pretty much shut up by 11pm.
We loved Spicy Salad bar for sunset and reasonable prices for cocktails.
We ate at Crystal bar on the first night and they had a live singer on which was a great touch, but he finished at 9.30 (we often didn’t head out for food until 9pm)
We then ate at Haad Salad Villas for a BBQ the next night which was incredible.
Jacks bar behind Salad Hut plays live music on a Thursday till late which suited us great.
It’s a stunning spot however it’s a bit on the quiet side for us with A LOT of children…!
From visiting for the day, I feel like Haad Yao would have been a better option for us.
If you’re travelling with children, I imagine it’s great. If you’re a couple who like something a little livelier then a night or two would be enough, or even stay elsewhere.
There’s not a huge amount to do here in all honesty so it depends on what you’re looking for out of an area.

Une belle plage de sable blanc, mais à l'ambiance très très calme.
Idéale pour les familles, ne vous posez pas là si vous cherchez de l'animation, car celle-ci est très rare une fois la nuit tombée.
Par contre le cadre de la plage est idyllique.

A gorgeous beach with powdery soft sand, calm sea and half a dozen restaurants/bars. We went to Crystal Day and Salad Hut for cocktails and food ... the staff in both are amazing, so friendly and happy.

Nous avons séjourné 4 nuits à Haad Salad au papaya resort.
Jolie plage familiale, où l’on peut observer des poissons à marée haute. Penser à mettre des chaussures d’eau car il y a de magnifiques oursins qui pourraient perturber votre séjour.
Ici il y a des marées donc à marée basse difficile de se baigner dans la mer, mais les hôtels disposent de piscine.
Plein de restaurants très bons avec une mention spéciale pour celui au bout à gauche en regardant la mer. Le meilleur thaï du séjour.
Peu de commerces.
Très bien pour se reposer en famille
Beaucoup de français à cette période de l’année
Il y a sur la plage une famille qui propose service de lessive, taxi boat, taxi pour le port (300 bahts) et même des jus de fruits excellents
Ils sont charmants
Allez y !

Marée basse… pas grand chose tout autour … quelques petits restos mais pas de possibilité d’avoir des transats ou chaises sur la plage … sympa mais pas d’eau pour nager donc on a fait demi tour …

I stayed in Koh Phangan & Haad Salad was one of my favorite beaches on the island. It's quiet & clean with really clear waters. Also, a great place for kayaking.

Beautiful beach! And great for snorkelling. My son (who is 4) had a fantastic time spotting lots of colourful fish. The beach was clean and had plenty of options for food and drink. I would recommend this beach.

Hallo,brauche mal eure Hilfe
Wir lieben Thailand und waren schon sehr oft dort,aber eben noch nie auf Koh Samui oder Koh Phangan.Das soll nun dieses Jahr im Mai passsieren und wir freuen uns schon riesig darauf.Nach mehreren Jahren in der Karibik,endlich mal wieder nur Frühstück,kleines Hotel am Strand,Seele baumeln lassen,Roller mieten,oder einfach mal nichts tun.
Flug ist gebucht 3 Tage Bangkok auch ,Transfer mit Bus und Fähre nach Koh Samui an den Menam Strand,Dort 1 Woche und dann wollen wir für 1 Woche mit der Fähre nach Koh Phangan.Nun hab ich gelesen das auf der Westseite das Wasser im Mai an manchen Stränden nicht oder wenig vorhanden sei.Wir haben uns das Cookis Hotel am Salad Beach rausgesucht.Nun meine Frage : kann man dort nun baden und schnorcheln oder lieber einen anderen Strand,wenn ja,dann welchen ???Wir sind da leicht überfordert.Wir möchten einen ruhigen Strand,wo man abends auch mal noch raus kann und lecker essen kann.Ne kleine schnucklige Unterkunft mit Frühstück wäre auch toll.
Kann uns jemand helfen????

Hi, we are going as a family to Phangan in August. Want to paddle with kids and snorkel from the beach, nothing too professional, just relaxing snorkelling to show 6 years old boy something more exciting than a swimming pool. Is Salad Beach acceptable during low tide? We are coming from Crystal bay (Samui) and will leave to Koh Tao to do more or less the same, but is there any good spot in Phangan these days? Thanks for any pointers.

Check tide tables. But seas fine for 6 hours a day.
