Really beautiful and you get the "post card" views. However it gets crowded after the large boats arrive. Get a private boat and get in early

Pulling up on your boat, its clearly absolutely stunning however, once you arrive, you can see that the whole place has been ruined by pure greed. It
First of all, as a foreigner, you are charged more to 'get onto' the island. Thai's pay less. As you walk onto the island, you see signs everywhere regarding plastic, no straws, no bottles etc however, look down between the rocks and you see large amounts of plastic that has clearly been disposed of from the island's café into the ocean.
The staff in the cafe/bar area were incredibly rude. The usual, happy Thai smiles were non existent. The baby in our travel group accidently pushed a glass bottle onto the floor and it smashed, the staff made us pay 400bht for the broken bottle whilst they watched us clear up the bottle with our hands.
You have to pay for the sunbeds on the beach despite paying an initial fee to get onto the island.
The sea is murky, full of disposed bottles and you are surrounded by dead coral.
The sea has thousands of jellyfish and salp in it and unfortunately, my four year old suffered a bad sting from either the jellyfish or the plankton in the salp. Staff were alerted and we were sent to reception to seek medical advice. The staff member practically threw vinegar on the sting which obviously caused a hell of a lot of pain and caused by little boy to cry uncontrollably. The staff member (a Thai lady) didn't understand why he was crying so much and started shouting and swearing at him, the whole scenario was dealt with in a terrible manner. The staff member was shouting to myself and my son and telling us to F*** off and shouting to other staff to tell them not to help my son. All whilst his stings were swelling up and causing agonising pain. Eventually, I managed to track down a lovely Thai man who dealt with the situation in a calm and professional manner, he gave us further information on what to do next. As we were leaving island, the other staff member continued to swear and spit at us.
I have since found out that the awful staff member is actually a tour guide on the island. Please, if you are visiting the island and you have this women as your guide, be careful as she quite clearly has serious issues, she may have been drunk or on drugs and you are not safe around her at all. Especially if you have children.

There is a lot of jellyfish in the sea around the island. Entry fee is 250 Baht and I’m not sure what this goes towards, as you have to pay extra for a sun bed, and the sea is dirty and unclean. The view point is nice and you can take a good photo. All in all a bit disappointing as we were expecting it to be really beautiful.

Really really pretty however the wait and the hike up to the viewpoint in the heat of the day is exhausting. No water bottles allowed on the island so drink lots before you arrive as it’s super hot! Cute to snorkel there but seriously it’s like an 1hr wait for the viewpoint.

It’s beautiful no doubt if you get there ahead of everyone else, my friend and I were literally the first 2 people to arrive and even had to wait for them to open. We had a grand time snorkeling, saw 2 baby black tips but the corals I noticed around Koh Tao is nothing great in fact, there’s almost nothing. After 30 minutes of snorkeling, we sat down and we were being charged 200 Baht for 1 umbrella w/ 2 beach chairs on top of the entrance fee of 250 Baht per. I closed my eyes for 15 minutes, when I opened them, it was a sea of orange … orange life vests! That much people in a matter of time. We were supposed to stay for 2 hours but changed our minds bec of the crowd. I think they should have a limit of people coming in. Most just take pics for their socials and don’t even experience the water itself.

One of the most beautiful islands I have ever seen. Beautiful nature, clean water, friendly people and a diving paradise. I highly recommend it.

During which time of the day the lookout point will be less crowded? What is the opening time for this island?

go first think in morning. We left Koh Tao at 8:30am for 9am opening and they let people in early anyways. Do the lookout point first thing, going to the left. It gets crowded up there later. Do shots then relax on the beach and snorkel and chill. The people from Koh Samui flood the island around 10am - but only stay for few hrs. Last group is probably early afternoon.

How much is a taxi boat from Sairee beach on Koh Tao? Can you haggle with them?

About 150 each way. You might be able to get it cheaper if you go with a few more people. But they are pretty set on their prices. No harm in trying though
