Ethical, caring, educational and simply inspiring. This park is a fabulous example of keeping the elephants in a safe and natural environment whilst enabling control interactions with guests.
We had an incredible time trekking through the
jungle jungle to find our beautiful elephant. Janna. We were privileged to be in a tiny group of 4, so the experience was very personal and more enjoyable.
The guide and mahout were very kind both with us - helping us navigate the jungle and the elephants.
After walking them to to park we fed them bananas and pineapple, watched the Mahout conduct a health check, then bathed and scrubbed them down.
It was a privilege to be up close with these majestic creatures.
Well done Phang Nga Elephant Park - you are doing a great job. Proudly doing your part to encourage ethical animal tourism.

Wenn Sie auf der suche nach einem Erlebnis sind, das etwas tiefer geht als die typische Tour, dann ist dies ein muss.
Der Mahout (Betreuer) ist so liebevoll zu den Elephanten und Anna (English Tourguide) hat so viel Informationen vermittelt.
Es war so spannend ihr zu zuhören.

Brilliant! Such a great family experience. Swimming and washing the elephants. Also hand feeding them. The carers are great.

das Elefanten Camp war der absolute Hammer 👍🏾😍👍🏾
Das Camp ist stylisch mitten im Dschungel 🌴🌴🌴 Wir hatten das große Glück , da wir mit dem
Moped 🛵🛵 alleine gefahren sind das Camp leer vor zufrieden ‼️‼️Ohne Zeitdruck konnten wir die Elefanten 🐘🐘 füttern, streicheln und mit ihnen baden‼️🥰‼️ ACH JA...... die Amerikanerin hat ihr Wissen witzig und informativ rüber gebracht.......

What a lovely place! The elephants all seem very well looked after and happy to interact with visitors. We walked our elephant (with others) up through the jungle with her handler, to a top area where we were able to feed her. We then walked back and took all the elephants down to the river to bathe with and clean them. They seemed really happy to be in the water. After this we walked them back and we’re then able to shower and enjoy a fantastic lunch. The American guides and local staff were very friendly and helpful.

Absolutely amazing experience the staff were wonderful and the elephants were amazing and gentle giants one of our highlights of our life totally recommended they do a wonderful job

Amazing morning, heading out on a trek through the jungle to find the elephant we'd be spending time with, walking back watching her make short work of the jungle was incredible. Everyone involved was great, from the staff at entry/lunch to the handler and our guide.

An intimate experience with these gentle and intelligent beings. Absolutely enthralling. A couple of hours sharing an elephant’s ideal day.

Absolutely amazing experience, our guide was friendly and informative, telling us the history of the family run park. We then ventured into the forest to meet our giant hosts before taking them back to a local natural pool where we bathed them. We then walked back to the park with them and gave them some sweet treats in the form of bananas and pineapple. We then had an amazing traditional breakfast. Amazing experience

Hi I am interested to come here with my family. Is there riding on these elephants at all? As my family and I will not go to any elephant sanctuary that does any riding at all.

Your choice if you wish to ride or not. I didn’t want to but after being there and seeing the care the elephants get and the knowledge of the staff. I realised it’s ok to ride. Doesn’t hurt the elephant and it’s only for 15 mins. Then they get there food prepared by us. Great place I have no doubts to recommend.

how far is your park from JW marriott in khao lak and what is the cost of your full day and half day tours? We are looking to visit with a family of 5 on December 30 or 31.

I recall that the trip from Khao Lak to the elephant park took around 90 min drive. The cost was around $120.00AU. it was a full day trip with lunch included and had a wonderful time with elephants. Well worth the experience.

Are rides part of the package at this place? I'm looking for somewhere that doesn't offer this as Ive read about some of the mistreatment to the elephants in order to get them to be ridden..

You don’t have to ride the Elephants, you can walk with them. However these Elephants are treated with the utmost kindness. There are no seats, indeed nothing to sit on which is why the park give you protective clothing to put on if you want to. The Elephants are trained with positive reward only, no use of any physical punishment or control- they use verbal commands with positive enforcement & when the one I was on stopped for a drink, we all had to wait while it took its fill. One aim of the park is to educate local people to the correct treatment & care of Elephants.

Its an hour away. They did provide a mini bus for us that picked us up from the hotel.

Hello,
I’m so confused about what is “ethical” for the elephants. This place has dazzling reviews yet everything they offer seems to check an “unethical” box. Riding, check; bathing by humans, check; feeding when humans want them to eat, check.
Someone please explain.
Are these animals chained or tied in anyway?
All elephants I saw on the way to The Big Buddha were tied up for show sure looked poorly treated.
I’m considering skipping an elephant experience..
