Met onze gids hebben we deze grot bezocht. Na een korte wandeling die prima te doen was, heeft de gids uitleg gegeven over de grot.

Amazed by how they buried the dead way back with no lights, no safety gears and slippery stones just to place the coffins on the top of the caves. We didnt get to see the hanging coffins up close since it is closed due to burial. Unlucky too that it is raining and power is interrupted when we went here.

it's not everyday one can experience the majesty of the subterranean landscape. the 4 hour underground cave traverse is unforgettable for the tight spaces and the beautiful
rock forms in the cave. definitely a must do when in sagada.

The Lumiang cave is a located about 1.9km from central sagada. We visited it as a part of a semi-self guided tour where we walked from sagada > Echo valley > Lumiang cave > sumaging cave.
First I'll start by stating that a lot of the below listed reviews are actually reviewing 'the cave connection' which is a tour that connects the luminag burial cave to the sumaging cave. This is a totally different attraction to what I am reviewing, which is the cave attraction itself. The entrance to the cave is a subtle sign off the main road. From here you take a 10 minute walk down a path to the opening of the cave, which contains about 100 coffins, stacked one on top of the other. This is a contrast to the hanging coffins of echo valley.
Although this is something worth seeing, the cost of 10PP per person plus a compulsory guide fee of 300PP is a bit steep. I found that the guide added nothing to the journey and just accompanied us down a well established path. At the end of the path was a viewpoint to the entrance of the cave, with the coffins being a distance away. We were in and out in about 20 minutes.

Jaskinia pogrzebowa Lumiang ( Lumiang Burial Caves), to święte miejsce Filipińczyków w którym grzebali swoich przodków.

Amazing spelunking experience of around 2-3 hours.
NOTE: Be prepared to go through tight spots and bring at least a phone in case their kerosene light give up - as it did happened to us. If you are suffering from vertigo or claustrophobia, I wouldn't not recommend it.

TBH - if you are in Sagada, you are there to see the hanging coffins - very popular. The Lumiang cave has coffins too, but they were stacked in the cave. The coffins are old and most are made of a single log. There are other caves with coffins as well - some for different types of deaths. This one is easy to get to.

Hello,
Just curious do you have website for the driver you hire. Could you recommend to us the driver/van you use and also the guide you use at Sagada. Which hotel did you stay in Sagada/Banaue? How long is the drive from Manila to Sagada? Did you stop other places before Sagada. We have not been there. And planning to visit the rice terraces with our 2 kids (9yrs and 13yrs old). Do you think that hike will work with our kids? What's the elevation and miles(km) of the waterfalls and the rice terraces? Our children hiked before with 2-5miles roundtrip elevation 2000-10000. How many days do you recommend to do the activities in Sagada and Banaue?
Thank you.
Kind regards,
Argie

Hi. HNY! What we did was book overnight bus from Manila to Banaue which took around 11 hours. This was more convenient for all of us since the bus was of recliner type so we were able to sleep throughout the trip. It was better than hire a driver from Manila, and definitely less costly. From the bus terminal in Banaue, the driver whom I got details of online picked us up and brought us to a viewpoint for breakfast. We then arranged tour with them to bring us to all tourist destinations in Banaue, Batad, and Sagada. There were five of us (2 senior citizens) and I think we were charged around 12,000 for all the tours (including drive from Banaue to Sagada which is 3 hours long, drive around Sagada the next day to check the sites, and entrance fees).
Regarding the hike in Batad Rice Terraces, it would be 30-45 minutes per way just going to the view point. If you want to really hike through the terraces, it will be another 5 or so hours. Batad is farther to the east but it has better rice terraces than in Banaue, around 45 minutes travel in between. As we had senior citizens in my group who were able to hike through Batad, I think your kids would be able to do it.
Check AirBnB for accommodations. Three days would be full but fine.

Hi, just wondering if you would recommend this cave (and Sumaguing cave) even to HEALTHY,FIT pregnant women? obviously not someone about to give birth but let's say 5,6 months pregnant?
Thank you
For your own safely dont enter that cave .. there are other caves on the planet where better rock formations can be seen . This is nothing to do with fitness, its a death trap and should be advertised as such. There is a lack of ropes, no guard rails , no lighting and one foot slip might end in your death. Local governments of other countries would never allow their citizens to enter such a death trap. Guides have slipped and fallen to their deaths, tourists have slipped and drowned (bodies never recovered.) and tourists have been trapped inside for hours during flooding. For your own safety best avoided ..
Hi... we're planning to go at Sagada, I just want to ask if there are fees to be paid such as entrance fee etc.?

Yes, upon arriving you need to register on their Old Municipal Hall for 35php/pax. Regarding with the Lumiang Cave Connection, it's 400/pax if you are 2 or more and different price if you are just 1 or 2 person.
