Superb beach located alongside Hiriketiya road. It's a bit of a rocky beach and an ideal place to relax. It has a bit of rough waves during certain parts of the year but I don't think it's dangerous.

Diese Bucht ist wunderschön. Der fein flachabfallende Sand macht den Weg ins Meer komfortabel. Allerdings ist die Brandung teilweise recht wild. Für Wellen-Liebhaber ein Spaß, für schlechte Schwimmer anstrengend. Der Stand ist sehr sauber und das Wasser hat eine tolle Qualität. Von Palmen umgeben ein fantastisches Fleckchen Erde. Zu den Sonnenliegen, Essen, Trinken und Preisen kann ich nichts sagen, wir wurden vom Hotel versorgt.

Plage en retrait de la ville, équipé avec des parasols, des bars, possibilité de louer des équipement de surf et vague moins forte que sur les autres plages

A beautiful beach near Tangalle with a few places to eat and drink. You can rent sun loungers here and it’s often free if you buy drinks or eat. If not, it’s around 1000 rupees. Tip…wherever you rent the lounger from is where you are expected to order food and drinks from.
The waves are deceptively high so be careful! There isn’t a lifeguard but the bar owners are helpful and friendly. One bar doesn’t have a food menu - the food is that fresh as it’s whatever they catch!
The dogs won’t bother you, they may sit under your lounger or the umbrella to keep cool.
This was a favourite part of our holiday.

It’s a lovely and beautiful quite beach.
Also recommend rest Eden Reverie, they have sun beds and nice kitchen.

A nice, peaceful beach, few beach restaurants, some sun loungers. Lovely place to relax by the coconut palms, clean sand, and sparkling shore

Plage de sable fin joliment bordée de cocotiers, mais toujours de grosses vagues qui rendent la baignade compliquée.
Les petits restos ne sont pas très engageants, l’un d’eux est carrément situé dans le coin le plus sale de la plage! Les prix pratiqués sont un peu élevés et ne parlons pas des lits de plage à 2500 roupies……sur d’autres plages de Tangalle c’est gratuit, même si la moindre des choses est au moins de commander une boisson.

The beach is divine. It is about 200 metres long with soft off white sand and rolling swell. We went during the covid crisis so the beach was really quiet. The bars and restaurants that were once open were all closed down. We loved it here and found it very relaxing. It is a good idea to take snacks and refreshments with you.

Пляж очень красивый, чистый песок. На пляже малолюдно, что большой плюс. Из минусов - большие волны.

Hi there - we (me, boyfriend and our nearly 6 year old son) are thinking about using Goyambokka Beach as a base to hang out at for a week and also use as a base to explore other beaches. One of the main reasons that we're considering this beach, besides the fact that it looks gorgeous, is that we're hoping the sea will be okay for swimming when we are there in late December i.e. small waves? Also wondering if it's easy enough to take day trips from Goyambokka to other beaches and sites? Thanks for your help! Alison

Hi! We visited Goyambokka in April with our 9 year old children and it is as beautiful as the pictures suggest.
We stayed at a little guest house a stones throw away from the beach. All in all the beach and surrounding area has a nice low key vibe and is great to chill at for a few days. Of all the beaches in Tangalle this was easily the safest to swim at in April. There was a bit of a rip and some medium sets coming in but manageable and not as gnarly as some as the other beaches which were no swim zones.
Recommended!
