After many months of passing by the gate on the way to Kufri, I finally managed to visit the sanctuary.
After a quick 2 minute entry procedure - Where you pay the fees, rent a bicycle if you want, and understand the closing time, you are on your way inside!
The Good:
- Birding - As a birder, I could spot so many species! Ideally go with your binoculars and DSLR with zoom lens
- Wildlife - Saw some fresh barking deer tracks. But I am sure there were Leopards, Civets, Martens and lots of other species watching me.
- Path - The 7KM path is flat and can easily be ridden on the bike (hopefully your own).
- Peaceful - You could spend hours inside. Would surely visit again and again and again,
The Bad:
- Bicycles aren't in good condition. Although you can get your own, that isnt a possibility for most people. My bum was sore for days after riding that bike on the bumpy bath for 14 kms.
- Trash - SO MUCH TRASH! Within a few hundred meters, you pass under the point where cars stop on the Kufri road to view the black forest. There was just a river of plastic flowing inside. Surprised that no one picked it up. Utilize that entrance fee!
- Noise Pollution - Even in the deepest part of the sanctuary, you could hear Punjabi Music blaring out of cars on the Kufri road. Since that road pretty much traverses through the sanctuary, it should be made a silent zone with strict checking

Not to be missed for nature lovers, an absolute heaven, secluded, lovely place for those seeking solitude, very romantic for couples who enjoy quite time in the midst of nature. No cars allowed. Set trail for a lovely walk.

himachal is blessed with such beauty everywhee. did not find any special care or beauty or structure here to help travellers being a reserved forest. however, there are many cool tracks hereto hike and explore the nature. should be kept more clean and nice.

No, not at all. It is summer season. Only expect snowfall in May at Rohtang Pass Manali, or at upper regions of Leh.
