Nothing much left in lakkar Bazaar visit only if you have spare time. 9 to 10 shops with almost have same old wooden stuff.

Lakkar Bazaar is a nice little local market offering a range of articles. Nice place to collect some souvenirs.

It is not only a pleasant place to visit, what with scent and sight of thousands of wooden items and all, but it is a great market to come to for wooded goods.
Do inspect the quality before buying, as some items may be slightly damaged.
The only drawback is that it can get very crowded at times, which makes it difficult to reach the shopfronts.

Nice place to see Local Fruit and Vegetable market. Also there are some iconic Sweet Shops .

Lakkar market is at the end of mall road in shimla. One can find small items made of wood, wooden toys and show pieces at a very reasonable price.

small bazar of some really good stuff made of wood. from a small comb till big wood artefacts all are available here. please note they dont bargain and neither do they have proce tahs to their stuff. you need to buy thwm at the price they giving. we bought cute jwellery boxes with very beautt clean wooden carving. its a must watch. the lakkar bazzar is aftee the christ church. a parallel lane goes down and there is the bazar

Kind of small flee market not much but you will get good stuff here. No Parking space so you have to keep walking from here to there.

Shimla is especially famous for the intricately carved wooden items.So it is no wonder that an entire market that dedicated to selling of such goods here. Located on the tiny road adjoining The Ridge in Shimla, Lakkar Bazaar is one of the popular street shopping place famous for the wooden decorative paraphernalia. There are also small shops lined along the market selling woolens, Pashmina shawls and handicrafts, with the Kullu shawls being the prime attraction.However,the most selling items in this market is the wooden walking sticks.

Situated near Ridge,it's name came from Woodcraft's sellers who have many shops in this market,lakkar means wood.It is also local market for locals ,few bakery and eatries including the famous sitaram and sons.Good area to explore the local vibes of Shimla,it's always crowded and roads are narrow.

Can anybody explained to me how to reach this Bazaar from the ridge? Do I have to take the stairs? I saw in youtube that from lower bazar to lakkar bazar, they have to take the upwards stairs (so steep and so many steps). Im bringing my mom, any idea where to shop without tiring her out?

Ridge to Lakkar Bazar is an easy walk through plain road, no need to take stairs. But visiting Ridge itself needs some tiring up-wards walk, especially for Sr. Citizens. Place of shopping depends on what you want to shop. Mall may be a good option for shopping.
