It was wonderful visiting the temple at such a beauty. You have an option of going by bus or jeeps ( run by the govt). You are not allowed to take your own vehicle after a certain range.

The temple is situated inside reserved forest area. Private vehicles are not allowed inside the protected area. You have to park at the gate and go by Karnataka state transport bus which is plying from the gate to the temple. Or else you can take the KSRTC bus directly from Bangalore or Mysore that goes straight to the temple

It was a cloudy weekday afternoon when we went to the hills. We are not allowed to drive out vehicle to the top of the hills. We should park our vehicles at the foot of the hill and should take a government bus to go to the top. While going we saw a number of elephants. And when went to the top,it was really breath taking. The hills are covered by lush green carpet of grass. The strong winds are able to make you fall down. The temperature is cold. The temple atmosphere is calm and peace. Please do make a visit to this place without fail.

You need to take a right turn at Angala village on Mysore Ooty road and travel about 5 Kms to reach the forest checkpost. Govt. buses will take you from here to the temple and bring you back. Private vehicles are not allowed as this temple falls under Forest area.
Temple is a medium size one. It is worth visiting and the purohit would explain the history of the temple. Married couples longing for children prey here and tie the cloth on the temple tree. The uniqueness of the temple is snow/ice water is collected above the Gopalaswamy Deity idol and it is the prasadam for the devotees.
Temple is open from 8am to 4pm. They serve food during lunch hours.
You can see animals during the bus ride - we saw deers .
It would be very chilling and very windy at the temple.

This temple is in the middle of the forest and controlled by the forest department. Temple is very nice. This place is high altitude. Hence most of the time covered by clouds. So this place is called Himada Gopala Swamy Temple. Caution: Visit during the day time when people are around. Elephants also visit this place often.

Visited this temple with whole family and everyone liked it.
Temple is on hilltop with same name of the temple. We went there in our own car which is allowed till foothill. From there only KSRTC buses are allowed to go up till the temple. Two buses ply and I think every 20 to 30 minutes one can get the bus for temple. But only till 4pm. Also they will wait till bus is fully packed.
As temple is inside forest and on hilltop it closes early and no bus post 4pm same way last bus from top will be around 5pm. There are chances you spot wild animals while traveling by bus.

What is the timings of busses from Mysore?
chitraraveendran
ميسور, الهند28 مساهمة
You have to check KSRTC Mysore for exact bus timings. But we caught a bus that came from Bangalore and got into it around 8 AM in Mysore. It is advisable to take a bus before 9 O'clock from Mysore as the bus travel would take around 4 to 4 1/2 hours. I think the temple would be open till 4 O'clock only. I hope my answer is helpful to you. Happy journey!!
