It was so good and relaxing. We enjoyed a lot. The breeze was awesome. But the water was unclean. Well we can visit beach for the breeze and the view. That was wholesome.

Good location of beach in chennai. We tried sundal & Coconut Water. Both were good. Crowded on a sunday. But ample space to relax and enjoy. good place to evening breeze in chennai.

A favorite place that I visit. Very clean beach with less people compared to marina beach and there are some great eateries near by. Very safe with the police check post.

This beach varies between peaceful and vibrant. Seems to be a place for families to spend time together. Beautiful view of the Bay of Bengal.

Nice Beach near to Thiruvanmiyur. Quite neat and evenings are more good to visit. Have some street food options as well.

It's an famous beach in Chennai and it's has world famous church near. It's all lots Street food there.

Also known as Elliot Beach but since it's near the residential area of Besant Nagar, it is also called Besant Nagar Beach.
It is accessible by private and public transport but private vehicle is advisable as there is good parking fascility (weekends it's very crowded).
There lot of accommodation options nearby the beach.
There is a famous Church Annai Velankanni Shrine and Shri Ashtalakshmi Temple. Temple is very crowded on Tuesdays and Fridays.
The famous broken bridge is also nearby this beach which is worth a visit only during daylight as it is not safe in the dark
The beach is very clean and well maintained, it is very safe as well. Best time to visit would be either evening or early sunrise.
There are many activities to do such as skating, merry go round, shooting the balloons. Eateries like Murugan Idli, KFC, Wow Momo, etc

Best beach experience and activities like balloon shooting and well maintained one. It also has Mcdonalds, Murugan idly shop and sooperstar pizza shop.

This is the best beach within the city of Chennai (far better than Marina). Beach is clean enough to take a stroll in the evening (but not worth bathing). Also, there are lots of restaurants in the vicinity of beach.

at morning 7 am is it possible to see the aun rises at Besant beach what about the crowd at tat time?

Hi, the timing is relative, you should check the sun rise timing schedule and then go accordingly. If you are lucky, you can get a very good sunrise view. The crowd, at that time of the day, is generally trickling. In any case, this beach doesn't have the crowd like Marina! Have fun!

Safety wise its fine but, police patrol is the problem. Chennai don't have night life unless you are very rich and local person.
