‪About 3D Model on Himalayan range at HMI Darjeeling‬

‪Thank you to all visitors who have been visited our Institute museum. Specially Thanks too Tripadvisor for unloaded various comments for further development of HMI museum. As HMI Curator , it was my prevailed that to regular maintaining and upgrade modernization of the museum for preserving our mountain heritage. This was my last project, whish I completed with in time frame . Recently , My creation The Himalayan Range crated history , My brainchild - The 'Himalayan range in a single frame' has created the HARVARD WORLD RECORD. I am sure that all visitors, like students research scholars will get help from this 3D models . If some one ingested for further information pl do not hesitate to contact.

‪Excellent museum‬

‪The main attraction is the museum which houses a collection of artefacts from Himalayan mountaineering expeditions among other things. The personal items of Tenzing Norgay and the huge model of the Himalayan mountain range are standouts. Well worth the visit. They also have some small scale adventure activities for kids and adults.‬

‪Easy visit from the zoo‬

‪We went to the Museum rather than the Institute itself. (The Institute has some climbing activities, for a small price, and a 'Tenzing Rock' etc). The Museum is educative, with many artefacts and photographs from the pioneering expeditions in the Himalayan mountains - the world's widest such expanse. There is a unique scale model of the Himalayan range, which gives a 3D perspective of the relative locations of Everest, Kanchenjunga and Darjeeling. On display are a lot of equipment - mostly old. Each climber had a personal booklet as a checklist of all that they were to carry - showed meticulous planning. And each expedition had a huge number of unsung sherpas to carry the equipment.‬

‪It's so exciting to see HMI's history and achievements. Those interested can take part in some mild adventure activities for a fee. The campus also houses a zoo. Thursdays closed.‬

‪Journey to the mountains‬

‪This is an Institution as well as inspiration for those who are dreaming to climb mountains. After achieving the impossible Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary decided to inspire people by establishing the first institute of HMI at Darjeeling in 1954. A part of this institition is a museum consists of preserved teeth and skull bones of those who became victims of uncertainity and extremely resilient journey to the upwards. It is based on the equipments, Vest, hat, oxygen cyllinders of Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary which were used for climbing the mount Everest. There is also a perfect model of all the himalayan mountain picks with its name and hight. Overall it is a very enthusiastic and interesting tourist place.‬
