Very few people seem to visit this place and when I entered, there were just another two couples who were gazing at the art-works. The building is located at a calm and serene place.

This is a lovely arts gallery conceived and run by the celebrated Bengali artist Shubhaprasanna. The only disadvantage is that it is located back if beyond in the Action Area III of Rajarhat in Kolkata. Unless you have your own vehicle it will be difficult to reach this place as we could not see any forms of public transport. You have to park your vehicle at the service road. The premise itself is beautiful. As you enter there is a huge sculpture of Ravana which is very impressive. The entrance to the museum is at the rear. You have to pay Rs20 to see the museum spread over the first to third floor and is approachable by an elevator( they give you a nice badge which you can keep as a souvenir).The top floor have paintings and sculpture by Shilpa Bhattacharjee( Shubhaprasanna’s wife), Paresh Maiti, etc. The highlight of the second floor is a gallery dedicated to Subhaprassana. There are also paintings by Jogen Chowdhary, Ganesh Haloi, etc. The ground floor has paintings by Anjali Ela Menon, Jamini Roy, Abanindranath Tagore, etc. There is a gallery of Bangladeshi artist also. The place although new already seems to need maintenance with seepage in places. The lightning probably needs to be better. While we were inside the lights went out for around 5 minutes.

I often visit this place. This place is very touching to me outside daily scheduled work. Feel impressed on the atrs and architecture effort by studebts here. Well maintained place. Even we had conducted one get together (Bijoya Sommeloni) here along with our all official staff. Spent nice evening with all musical arrangements arranged by the authority. Nice scacks were arranged, Felt nostalgic after a long time....
Even there was a very good cultural program during first week of Dec'18 which was really awesome and i enjoyed a lot.

A good place for artistic exploration but for any programme it is really difficult to reach the place unless until you have your own car. Spacious and very artistic but auditorium lighting needs a little bit of improvement.

While passing through the New town Kolkata I came across this place. Entered inside @Rs 20 . parking free.It opens my eye towards Art. It is a Beautifully decorated, well maintained Arts Museum with fabulous collection. They also run a modern cafeteria where you can have lunch or snacks. They also provide one person who will help and guide you throughout your visit to different section of Museum. It is one of the must see places of Kolkata of recent times. You can also stay in their guest house if you are interested to participate in some of their programmes.

This is an amazing facility, the vision of the noted Bengali artist Shuvaprasanna who founded and currently directs the foundation. The museum is housed on three levels, with primarily post-Independence (1947) art on the top two levels, and modern art from other areas of India on the first (in addition to Gallery of Bengladesh artists).
There is a cafeteria serving excellent Bengali dish, most reasonably priced. Another building holds workshops for various media (printing, painting, sculpture, ceramics), as well as studios for resident and visiting artists. If you plan ahead, it may be possible for you to participate in one of their classes. The area so 16 apartments available for rent.
The museum is located in the newly developed (ing) New Town area near the airport. This looks more like Dubai than the chaotic Kolkata of the rest of the city. You should be able to get Uber or Ola out to the museum, and in a few years, the new Metro line will reach New Town, and connect with the airport.
Altogether, a wonderful way to spend an afternoon or morning (note open from 10A to 6P).

If you are into modern art & painting , this place is a must visit. The pieces have been beautifully displayed in the art gallery

Modren art work is on beautiful display here in this museum. Most of the work is on display only, not for sale. But art lovers get a very good opportunity to go through all the famous works to get an idea of what is available in the market

Never knew we have such a wonderful Modern Art Museum in New Town. Sculptures and paintings of different time-spans by renowned artists are on show in different galleries spread across four floors. Also watched a small video show on 2014 Kashmir floods - nothing very special of the video clips but the screening is really innovative. The big screen is housed inside a toppled Kashmiri house's replica adding a 3D touch.
There is an in house canteen which serves very basic rice/roti meals. Photography not allowed inside. There is a small shop which sells artistic items but was closed during our visiting time.
Good for one time visit, no cards accepted only cash. Rs. 20 per visitor entry fees charged but they gift you a badge as well.
