It was quite emotional walking around Mother Teresa's house, and reading about all the special things she did in her life for humanity.

Eye opening experience having spent a day volunteering at Premdan. We arrived at the Mother House for 6am mass which was followed by a short briefing. We were assigned Premdan and one of the regular volunteers first brought up back to their guesthouse for tea before we caught at bus the location.
The morning involved helping out at Premdan, which was a home for older men and women. We did a range of activities; including laundry, making beds, serving tea, washing up and even helping some of the more vulnerable people to eat their lunch.
It was a very rewarding experience and I would highly recommend all to do for a least 1 day.

One must visit this place, spend some time there, relax, and think about how privileged we are. The museum is small, but it needs one day to go through everything and to know how much she and her organization did for human civilization.

It is a beautiful place. So much of literature about the life and times of the Mother are available.

Mother Theresa tomb is really touching. It is very peaceful and simple. Many visitors come and visit here .

Great place to visit. Mother House of Mother Theresa was very inspiring and the whole city was an experience that I will cherish for a lifetime. The Oberoi Grand Hotel was simply fabulous!!!

My experience was poor. I felt there was a sense of hypocrisy in their intentions of service. One of the sisters was even asking me to convert my religion to Christianity. I donated money but did not receive any donation slip, etc. One need to be careful while visiting such places.

Be mindful of the timings (8 AM to 12 Noon and 3 PM to 6 PM) (no visitors allowed on Thursdays). Please reconfirm before visiting. A short visit shouldn't take more than 30 minutes but one that is wholesome and humbling.

What are the exact timings, at one site l had seen 6Pm as closing time?

Timings are complex.
Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday and Friday are 8 am until 12 noon, and then 3 pm until 6 pm.
Thursday it is closed all day.
Monday is possibly open from 8 am until 6 pm, but it would be safest to treat it as the same as Saturday, Sunday, etc.
Tuesday is only open from 8 am until 12 noon.
As others have said, it gets busy later, so better to head for the morning.
Hope, and expect, you will have a fulfilling experience..

Hi All
I would like to take part in a volunteer activity on Sep/23 Sunday (only one day).
One website says "Volunteers' Coordinators are not available on Sundays and Thursdays".
Does this mean that merely coordinators are not available but we can get a one day pass even on Sundays,
or the pass issuance itself is impossible on Sundays??
Did anyone take part in a volunteer activity only on Sunday?

Be there at Sunday morning mass which starts at 6 am.
After that you can try for day pass. Please carry your passport with you and two passport size photo.

Hi, dears, I would like to volunteer at Mother House for 1-3 days next Feb. during my trip. Shall I apply to the House in advance? and how? or shall I just walk in there in the early morning? I'm afraid they will not accept me if I do not make pre-application.

Mother Teresa hospital is always open to visitors. It is located just next to Khali temple in Kolkata. Volunteers are very welcoming and the sisters can give you a guided visit to show you their work. If you want to see mother Teresa's grave, then you have to go to her house/museum with is located near by Park Street. Enjoy it!
