This place is very nicely done, the rooms are quiet and have lots of little lights everywhere for atmosphere. I had a foot massage and didn't book in advance, they were very accommodating and it was a lovely experience. I got the cheaper 60 minute foot massage and it included some work on my shoulders which was a nice surprise.the cost was 218.

I was absolutely ready to swear off Dragonfly spa for the rest of my life after this experience, but the manager at this location, Michelle, really came through and saved it for me. It's because of her that I'll come back. My expectations have been exceeded.
I got a Brazilian, and the person who did my wax not only kept applying painfully scorching hot wax onto my skin, but she then kept using her mouth to blow on the wax directly on my skin to cool it down. I kept telling her to cool down the wax first and that she shouldn't use her mouth on my skin, to which she kept replying "OK" but ceased to stop. This whole illogical, unsanitary, and unnecessarily painful process continued throughout my entire wax. My whole bikini area felt like it was on fire for the rest of the evening. To make matters worse, after I complained, she blamed my skin for being too thin. Classic victim blaming, and highly unprofessional.
After Michelle got wind of this, she contacted me directly. She met my request for a full refund, listened to me carefully, and apologized profusely. She put a lot of effort into making sure I did not go on with a bad taste in my mouth about Dragonfly. They are an extremely reputable spa chain in Shanghai, so there should be no reason to have a bad taste in my mouth about it at all.
Michelle is a gem. She went above and beyond, which really doesn't often happen in Shanghai. I really feel like all management anywhere and everywhere should take a lesson from the way she responded and reacted in this situation.

I pre-arranged for several treatments in one day. I thought it was strange that the facial, manicure and pedicure were all scheduled to be done by 3 people at the same time. It made for a less than relaxing experience for each. Also the pressure applied during the massages was too much and I kept trying to explain this and had difficulty being understood. Finally, I had requested a 90 minute hot stone massage. They failed to tell me that there were 2 options, lower legs only and full body. They just went ahead and assumed I wanted the lower legs only but I had wanted full body. The hot stones were much too hot and it took time for them to understand this. About half way through the time, I realized that they weren't going to do full body. Again I tried to ask about this but the massage therapist did not speak English. After finishing, I asked about this and was told oops, guess they should have asked me when making the appointment. Nowhere on the website does it say there are 2 kinds of hot stone massage and with only a 90 minute option, I can't imagine how that can only be lower legs. I would have expected Dragonfly to offer a refund, or coupon for their mistake but they did not.

Nous avons fait une pédicure en duo avec massage des pieds! Couleur pour les dames c'était une pause détente super agréable avec de vrai professionnelles dans un cadre sympa.

My foot massage by therapist Peter was great and relaxing. Started with a head and shoulder massage; went on to the foot. highly recommended!

the place is great . the facility is clean and the staff are nice.
i have shoulder problem, sometimes it's very painful. after tne masseuse do the oil massage, i feel better and the body is totally relaxing. the masseuse inquire me if it's hard of soft, and she will change the force. it's amazing exprience. the service is professional.
also like the music during the massage,which make me asleep. the smells is good. the environment makes me free
i think i will be come next time.
but it's better to reserve in advance

悠庭老品牌了，上海国金店环境超好，技师水准极高，前台服务也很贴心，过来出差两天做完按摩很放松，颈椎舒服多了，下次去上海有机会再来，可以带家人或者闺蜜来放松放松，是一个值得推荐放松的好去处，非常非常满意！

Me and my partner visited this retreat while in Shanghai to give ourself a treat. The only thing that was good about this studio was the environment. The massages we got were the most expensive and honestly the worst we’ve had.
We took the master massages hoping to have a great experience, what i got was some petting on my body wich madr absolutely no difference, whilst my partner ended up with great pain in her back for 3-4 days.
I think we spent about 500 each and we have had massages that had been way better for 30.
What a robbery.

On March 2nd 2018, at 3:50PM, my boyfriend received a specific TCM Neck & Shoulder massage at the IFC Retreat.
To the staff (the two receptionists), I had specifically told them in Chinese AND English that he was suffering from serious tension in the shoulders.
However, after the end of the massage, he complained of still experiencing severe shoulder pain, and that Ron, the masseuse, had completely neglected his shoulders.
After returning to Paris, he had to visit a chiropractor because he was still suffering from shoulder pain, and the chiropractor had told him that the massage from Dragonfly worsened the problem. Clearly the masseuse was unprofessional, and although it is unsure that whether the low quality of service was due to the fact that he is a foreigner, we were extremely disappointed and upset.
Now, when I spoke to the masseuse after the massage, he said that the receptionists had told him to focus on the hands, and did not mention anything about the shoulders.
Even during the procedure, my boyfriend had repeatedly asked Ron, the masseuse, to focus on the shoulders.
He SPECIFICALLY chose the more expensive option because he was having trouble with stiff shoulders, and the receptionist Karen specifically recommended the TCM massage as it is more "intense" than the classic massage.
Apparently, Ron did not receive any information about this from the receptionist.
Now, I am a long-time client at Dragonfly IFC. For years, I have regularly received facials, massages, and eyebrow waxing.
As I'm based in Shanghai, I emailed the manager GINA ZHU to let her know about the situation. After explicitly detailing what had gone wrong, she sent this email with a very careless reply. I had expected at least an apology, or an explanation of the situation. The email is attached below.

As you know I and my team responded quickly to the concerns that you had raised in your email and also mentioned above.
I sent you a follow up email after you visited one of our other shops (to experience our normal level of service) and you told me that you were happy to note that the problem above was just an unfortunate incident (and not the norm).
I would like you and all customers to know that we take your comfort, safety and satisfaction very seriously and will do our best to satisfy you on each visit.
Whenever there is a misunderstanding, we do our best to try and correct it.
