Our family booked a 4 hour snorkeling tour with North Pacific Tours and it far exceeded our expectations. Lisa helped coordinate our booking and was very responsive. Fabian and Capt. Danny were right on time, picked us up on Playa Hermosa beach, and treated us to to an unforgettable morning. They knew just where to find wildlife in the Papagayo Gulf. From the Don Manuel (boat) we saw devil rays, pods of dolphins, sea turtles, and lots of birds.
We stopped at a secluded white sand beach to snorkel, and the water was calm and crystal clear with a coral reef and tons of colorful fish. We also stopped at other beaches along the way, including a short trip down a river with mangroves. At one point we stopped at a small sea cave, and went in it - it was awesome! Fabian was very friendly, great with our kids, and expressed a genuine enthusiasm to show us around this incredibly beautiful place. A simply amazing experience!

Had an absolute blast with Captain Mauricio and Danny! They were incredible and put us on some fish! My wife and I caught a Yellow Fin Tuna and a Barracuda. I had a Rooster Fish on too that I lost as it got closer to the boat (my fault). They had the cooler stocked full of beer and water and also fresh fruit. Couldn't have been easier scheduling either... Lisa was very fast with replies and the crew picked us up right from the beach of our resort! They cleaned the fish on the boat and our resort cooked it for us that evening - it was incredible! Couldn't say enough good things about this team or the time we spent with them. Would recommend them to anyone and will definitely be booking them again when we're back in Costa Rica next. Thank you!!!

We're not regular fishing folks. I've been a handful of times in my life and my kids have only done easy lake fishing a handful of times with family, but for some reason my son decided deep-sea fishing is what he had to do on our Costa Rica trip - it turned out to be an absolutely wonderful day on the water and a memorable high-lite of trip.
Cpt Mauricio and Cpt Danny were both extremely patient and kind with my 7 and 9 yo, helping them real in several bonito and red snappers. They helped me land a rooster fish, and were great at finding dolphins, turtles, rays and other marine life as we tooled around the cost. They also provided suggestions on restaurants on the beach that would prepare the fish for us which was fantastic.
The boat was clean and well maintained. I was initially hesitant that there would be enough shade, but as soon as we got out to sea they extended the canopy and provided a good amount of coverage - still, you'll want to slather on the sunscreen. There were plenty of snacks and drinks for all of us to enjoy, and towards the end of the day we took a break from fishing and snorkeled at a secluded little spot.
We'd definitely use North Pacific Tours again should we find ourselves back in Costa Rica and I regret not signing us up for a two day trip.

We had an INCREDIBLE time fishing with North Pacifico Tours! Captain Danny is an excellent captain and knows exactly where to go to catch plenty of fish. The Don Manuel is a very clean, well kept, fishing boat that handles the waves well offering a very comfortable journey! We enjoyed a beautiful day, lots of refreshing fruits and beverages, and most importantly we brought home SO MUCH delicious fish! I definitely recommend North Pacifico Tours to anyone who is interested in going on a fantastic fishing trip in the Papagayo region!

GREAT FISHING TRIP!! Had a blast with Capt. Mauricio and his first mate!!! Not only were we perfectly accommodated from the beach of our hotel with everything needed to have a great time, Mauricio was DEAD ON THE FISH!! Scored 3 big yellow fin tuna, a big sail fish, a big Mahi Mahi, and finished the day off with some big grouper! GREAT MEMORY FOR OUR FAMILY!!

Captain Mauricio was one of the best I have ever experienced during a fishing charted. He outlined the day perfectly to start and then made sure to point stuff out throughout the day so that we got to learn the area and see a variety of wildlife.
We were able to also catch a few fish and the crew worked hard to put us on a rooster fish which we were able to accomplish. These guys dont stop working all day long. Lunch, fruit and drinks a plenty to help throughout the day also.
Lisa was also great to communicate with and they really couldn't outline the trip expectations any better. You get exactly what you expect with this trip and then some!
We unfortunately left a fit bit on the boat that fell out of a bag and had flown out of the country. Not the end of the world and we were ready to get a new one but Lisa offered to coordinate shipping through a friend traveling to the states. Really just tells you how genuine this company is.
I did a lot of research before selecting this company and was very impressed. Dont hesitate to book with them during your trip to this area!

A “HUGE” thank-you to you, Captain Mauricio and Captain Danny!
What an amazing experience I, my daughter and her husband experienced yesterday. Y’all made the winds disappear and brought out all of the wonderful ocean creatures for us to experience. From a Tortuga mother who had just laid her eggs (in addition to others swimming in the ocean) to humpback whales, eels, rays, rooster fish, dolphins and enough fish to feed us for months to come! Captain Mauricio was so obliging in answering all of our questions and taught us so much! And, he sure knew where to catch the fish! We will talk about this amazing day for years to come.
This is definitely an annual event that we will be partaking in and we all look forward to meeting up with Captain Mauricio and Don Manuel again next year.

If you want to fish the West Coast of Costa Rica, then this is your place We reserved a boat for 4 of us and the transaction was easy. They set us up on Dream Fishing with Captain Moya and is brother Jeremy. We told them we wanted to target Mahi Mahi. We caught 5 Mahi Mahi and my entire family enjoyed the trip. Catching was great but the boat was in great shape. The crew was great to work with. They brought us food and drinks. We will definitely take these guys out again. You will not go wrong.

Our guide Greivin and his brother worked hard to get us fish in every way possible. We originally set out for rooster fish, but when they weren’t cooperating, we went further out and had a blast! Even when we weren’t locked into fish, we learned a lot about Costa Rica, it’s culture, and it’s fishing. An amazing time!

Great guides!! Nice boat “ The Bahamas”. We caught a sailfish, jack creval, yellowfin tuna and a giant needlefish!. Grecian did a great job with plenty of information about the country, life and fishing!!

How much is a Costa Rican fishing license? Can you get a license for just one day?

The license cost was $15 per person. It is not for one day - I think it covered 7 days (which, if for some reason, your charter were to postpone due to weather - which is rare, you are still covered).

Hello joe, our half day trips are 5 hours $400 and full days are $600 8 hours. We supply everything needed except fishing licenses, two coolers - one for catch and the other will have cold drinks. Lunch is provided on our full days. You can read more on our website northpacifictours.

Hello, I just saw that you had posted a question. So sorry for not seeing it earlier. Our prices are for the boat- not per person. We can pick you up at the beach of secrets hotel. I would recommend booking in advance so you can go out the day that works for you best. We normally are very busy for the month of December.

Hello, I did not realize I had questions here on this site pending. My apologies! I do hope you were able to go out fishing while you were in Costa Rica.
What fish species are available in early December I will be there early December
Hello Carl, This is lisa from North Pacific Tours. I was having problems logging in and had to use another account to answer this question. Right now they are catching (and releasing) Roosters. In addition they have been getting jacks and bottom fishing for snapper and grouper.
