The most exciting thing about this ancient culture street is the architecture and some of the decor. Otherwise it is pretty standard. It was a little out of the way and kind of dead.
The drum tower is nearby and the closest metro Gulou or Dongnanjiao with Gulou being closer to the drum tower. The area is quite walkable and fits in with a walking tour of Tianjin so if you do go here plan to spend an hour.

没特色，没意思，卖的东西淘宝一搜能便宜小十倍，周边交通不方便，只能打车前往，做文化旅游景点做成这样，政府也真是可以了

Typical tourist area with many different shops. Due to the virus we were probably the only Western tourists there. Many shops closed, but still worth a visit.

Un entorno comercial tradicional en una calle con ambientación a la usanza antigua, se disfruta recorrer ésta calle peatonal donde los olores de especies, picantes y perfumes se entremezclan; asimismo el colorido de las artesanías la hacen un punto imperdible en la visita a Tianjin.
Las casas antiguas perfectamente conservadas y los Museos aledaños complementan el lugar.
Recomiendo la visita a manera de impescindible para conocimiento del folklore y la historia de la Ciudad.
Disfruta de Ancient Culture Street (Gu Wenhua Jie) porque: ¡La VIDA...es un VIAJE!

鼓楼から海河を目指して東にまっすぐ歩いて行きました。
古い街並みを活用した商業エリアという感じで、飲食店と土産店がほとんどでした。
古い廟もエリア内にあります。
公衆トイレも数ヶ所あり、どこも清掃が行き届いており便利でした。

約600mの街並みで800年以上の歴史を持つ街並みを再現しています、道路沿いには飲食店お土産屋がずらりとなんでいます、天津の民芸品・泥人形のお店もあり、入って見ました。

吃货家庭，玩一路吃一路，有各种当地小吃孩子们都很喜欢尤其是龙嘴面茶，民间小玩具，就是周末人太多啦哈，停车位不好找

Is everything open on s Sunday?

I was there on a Wednesday so I can't answer definitively. However, being China, they will be on the look-out to make as much money as possible. Closing on a Sunday is primarily a western (Christian) concept. Having travelled extensively throughout China for both business & pleasure over the past 20 years, I can attest that unless it's Lunar New Year (Feb) or Golden Week (early Oct) pretty much everything is open.

Oh I’m not sure how much it is to get a taxi from the cruise port. But it is farley easy to flag a taxi around the place
