We visited from our cruise ship docked in Tianjin port. 3 hour drive but worth it. Had the section almost to ourselves. Cannot recommend highly enough.

风景无与伦比，长城上永远有风很清爽。我们不知怎么走错路了因此到了年代更久远的一长段长城，只有一面城墙而且很陡，地面的台阶也年久失修但是足够安全，曲径通幽异常好玩，😜

秦の時代に建造された人工壁です。
入口のところで、右に行くか左に行くか迷いましたが、前回、左を選んだので今回は右を登りました。
途中、脇にゴミなどが捨てられていたので残念な思いをしました。

I was taken aback when I arrived at The Great Wall, the fact that this structure was made by man so long ago and is still intact is beyond impressive. The wall goes as far as the eyes can see. The walk on the wall was tough at various points, it's amazing to think that people once walked these walls on a daily bases and had to protect it from people trying to invade the lands. It gives you a feel good vibe just being able to say that you walked amongst history.

We arrived via cruise ship in Tianjin and decided to visit this part of the wall as we were being escorted into Beijing, and are so glad that we did.
It is nearly a 2 hour drive from the port to the wall, which ended up adding about 1 hour of our overall drive to Beijing, but was so worth it. We stopped near the wall and enjoyed eating at a local countryside restaurant where the food is tasty and plenty and very cheap before walking the wall.
This section of the wall is not crowded at all and photos of it rival the ones that we took at other areas of the wall.
Glad we decided to take this detour on our trip from Tianjin to Beijing!

definitivamente es una de las mejores secciones de la gran muralla china que hay que visitar, sus jardines son muy bellos e inspiradores.

Super moment j'ai eu le privilège de pouvoir la visiter à une période où il n'y avait pas de touristes, un moment magique qui fut entaché par une femme travaillant à la murail qui nous a un peu forcé la main pour aller aux restaurant qui n'était pas chauffé à savoir qu'il faisait -8, qui a choisi le menu à notre place pour au final nous annoncer une facture à 880 yuan et qui ne nous a même pas rendu la monnaie sur 900 yuan quand je lui ai réclamer la monnaie elle m'a répondu qu'elle n'avait pas de petite monnaie, je vous conseille donc si vous y allez et tombé sur cette femme ne vous faite pas embobiner et ne manger pas sur place.

Wanneer je de mogelijkheid hebt, mag je dit niet missen. Er zijn 2 mogelijkheden, je laten afzetten door een busje dat vanaf de parking rijd en de muur aflopen en van onderen starten en daarna terug omlaag. Ik heb het beiden gedaan en zou aanraden om je te laten afzetten aan de bovenzijde. Vanaf onderen starten is zeer vermoeiend en wanneer je de uiteindelijke muur bereikt heb je al een stevige klim achter de rug. Houd hier rekening mee, vooral als je niet jong en fit bent. De eerste keer heb ik het volledige traject gedaan, de tweede maal lukte dat niet.

Your best option is to visit that part of the wall, and not any other because of time restrictions and other reason as well.
Once you off the cruise ship hire one taxi outside there will be many, make sure to have their currency.
Go enjoy some pictures and agree with the driver to stop by Tinjine mall on the way back since you will have time.
The drivers generally are not honest, and tend to play games, so set the rules BEFORE you pay him.
I advice not to pay him until he dropped you off your port.

Hi, we are taking a cruise that docks in Tianjin and I wanted to know if we could simply hire a taxi or uber to take us to the pass or what would be safest. I saw someone wanted $1600 to drive 2 people there and back which seems crazy.

from Tianjin downtown to the place, I paid 1400 yuans for two taxis! You have to bargain a little bit.
