Brilliant bike and walking track! Great vistas, convenient cafe stops, a must do! Do it regularly! Dog, kid and family friendly.

A shared path skirting subdivisions through the ages.

Bush trails? Council Comms person having a laugh.
Poorly signposted to extent we considering flare launch to rescue us from ...er .. suburban Orewa.
Last 15 minutes on Millwater side pleasant enough but best to relinquish the track to cyclists and walk up and down the beautiful beaches.

This is a great walk but as with everything it can be ruined by dogs off the leash as well as cyclists that do not respect the pathway. there were many examples where children were well ahead of their parents and out of sight of them and caused havoc in one case where an elderly couple were nearly knocked over. It was fortunate that there was a bench seat nearby. I would suggest their be more of a presence of council officials. this could be as simple as checking people who have a bell on their bike. I have walked the track four times now and only heard three people ring a bell. If this is too costly maybe a more prominent sign for cyclist responsibilities could be displayed. i would only go on weekdays for this walk as most of the above hazards are removed. other than this a great walk and some good views.

So many things to do. There is a great walk/cycle track around the estuary. There is a wharf to jump off when the tide is in. Very safe place to use a paddle board or kayak.

We were travelling thru and wanted flat walk...its a 90/100 minute walk of nothing in honesty..you pass lots of homes and new builds plus a school and occasionally a bike speeds past you..obviously great if you are a local for a cycle or take dogs out, but we were quite underwhelmed in honesty.
Get out to Wenderson Park or Sherwood instead.

This is a great way to explore beautiful Orewa by foot, along the pathways past lovely gardens and over foot bridges, leading to a white sandy beach and safe swimming area in the estuary. Ideal for kids on scooters or mobility carts as it's very safe and there's also an exciting Skating Park for the kids to play on along the way.

We headed off early in a clockwise direction and thoroughly enjoyed our cycle which took about 45 minutes. It was a weekday so relatively few people were on the track.It was mostly flat with a few wee ups and downs. The cycle or walk finishes and starts close to a community shop, an arts centre and a cafe for coffee and treats. There is plenty of parking.
The views are lovely and there are toilets in several places en route. Dog walkers mostly had their pooches on leads which was great.

This is a real gem for Orewa. This approximately 10km loop, is ideal for everyone. It has water stations on the way, a nearby coffee shop after km 5 and nice views. The views and tracks are wonderful but a hat is recommended as there is not enough shade all the way through.

Excellent walk. At a steady pace it took us 1.5 hours. Several toilets along the way, but no stores, so take a drink bottle. Clockwise will leave you with an easier end if you start at the Estuary Arts Centre carpark. Good for bike rides, too.
