‪Full of local interest‬

‪Don't you love it when you visit little community museums nd they're full of bric n brac and nik n naks from your own childhood? If you do the. This is the museum for you. It is lovely to wander around in but it also tells the story of the development of the Ashburton District and communities. There is weight given to the local contributions to the war efforts, which is apposite as it is across the road from the War Memorial (which is undergoing restoration
as I write).
The Childrens Holocaust Memorial is housed here at present and is a moving and representative demonstration of how many children met their premature deaths during that reign of terror.
Upstairs you will find the Ashburton Art Gallery.

‪Very good Place tell the history of the district and the dress up box is awesome, there also the art gallery and pond with duck all in the same area‬

‪Nice to visit it again!‬

‪This was my second time and I enjoyed the colonial founders' exhibits and artifacts! The Art Gallery upstairs was also well worth checking out. Local talent was very much on display!‬

‪Interesting if you want to know about the district beginnings. If you were interested in art the upstairs caters for that.‬

‪we went there last week and saw the last of the water display which was very nicely done,
i am not sure the cost of the facility does sufficient for the town,
we were the only ones there, the three people manning the place looked very board‬
