I am to understand a community park is for use of the people in the community to park, picnic and relax as much as they like freely. not a place for the city to restrict usage and charge high parking and usage rates for profit, causee park personal already paid good wages from taxes citizens pay.somebody making bank and making cities laws to protect them. when did it become legal to change are make city codes to profit and protect city personal.

Following our visit to the Colorado River Museum, reentered the world of the sweltering heat (at 1613 hours the camper exterior temperature gauge was display 115 degrees). Summer has arrived. Prior to venturing out in the heat, made sure that we had the necessary survival items (hats, comfortable shoes, sunglasses, and a heavy coating of suntan lotion applied to exposed skin). Backpack was stuffed with a plethora of water bottles. Walked around the park and observed a dog park, The Little Red Schoolhouse, several area to launch your boat, swimming beach and several other items. Numerous covered picnic tables are scattered around the park. The dog park was empty except for an elderly lady in a way too small bikini attempting to get her dog to cooperate. Dog had only one idea in mind. Get out of the sun. Spent 10 minutes watching the antic of this woman and her dog. Dog 1, Woman 0. Several boats were parked at the launch site, and numerous others could be found on the Colorado River. Jet Ski were everywhere. Beach area was the most active location within the park. Adults in all types of beach attire, ranging for bikinis to baggie shorts. Noted lots of sunburnt skin. Kids running around on the beach and many splashing in the river. All appear to be having a good time. Continuing our stroll, located the one room “Little Red Schoolhouse” built in 1947. This brick red building with white trim and large white door is impressive. The cast iron school bell adds a touch of class to this relic of the pass. Building closed. Would have like to view the interior of this old schoolhouse. A check of the internet reveals little information about this schoolhouse. Resuming our walk through the park, noted numerous vagrants sitting under the trees, and occupying the picnic pavilions. Overall, a good park with lots of things to do when it cools off. Had fun, getting a bit of exercise, site seeing and examining “The Little Red Schoolhouse.” Nevertheless, still managed to get sunburn. Recommend visitors pay attention to your surrounding and possessions, be aware of the weather conditions / temperature as heat exhaustion is possible. Enjoy this great park.

Community park is nice, on the river, and they recently opened more beach area. The chamber is there, a museum, large ramada where they have events like the farmers market and there is a dog park. The only down side is there are homeless that hang out there. They dont cause any trouble and it's not alot of them. Overall very nice park

We have gone there many times when they had the snowbird events. Those were later moved to a larger facility but the park still has many activities going on. The market is realy nice.

While driving down hwy 95 on your way thru Bullhead City, AZ, you pass by Bullhead City Community Park, on the river (best to visit when it's cooler, Nov-May, and when it's not so windy. I've gone there about 8 times for picnics, group meetings, fairs, taking photo's of the river, and just hangout. It's fun for the whole family. Go boating and jet-skiing, it's cool, see ya at the beach.

This park has just about everything you need. Large covered areas, tables, BBQ, play ground, beach, bathrooms, dog park, boat launch ect. Recently expanded the beach area. Launch gets pretty busy on the weekends. There is a homeless population that hangs around here. But all together a pretty good place.

Visiting this park in march is far different than what it would be at the height of summer, but regardless, it was nice. lots of grassy areas, lots of covered picnic areas and of course lots of beach to walk along this time of year. we saw lots of people fishing from the bank of the river as well as several small craft that had been launched from the parks own boat ramp. They were also doing a lot of landscaping at the park that i'm sure will be spectacular when finished before the summer rush. Also pleasing was the fact that they have moved the small museum down to the park from its previous spot. The museum was small but they only asked for donations. the museum itself was quaint and informative. my favorite exhibit happened to be the one about Louis L'amour. its easy to spend a couple hours at the park between museum and wandering the river and a small picnic lunch.

Do we need to reverse an area?

Only if you want to use the main pavilion or the Chamber of Commerce building. You can still use the main pavilion without reservations but if someone else has reserved it you will have to move.

Is there hiking nearby?
Kimo K
Mililani, هاواي47 مساهمة
LoL, Only in the winter. You definitely do NOT want to go hiking anywhere even close to this park in the summer WAY to hot for that. It gets up to 125 degrees (f) in the shade here. "But", if you go across the river and take the road going up the hill towards Vegas and find the dirt road cutoff towards a place called "Christmas Tree Pass", there is some fantastic hiking areas, you will really enjoy! Use a truck, SUV or Jeep! Hieroglyphs, boulders, and paths, (if you choose to follow them), be mindful though, this is still the desert. Snakes, such as rattlers, and coyotes and mountain lions are in the area. so come prepared. Definitely take water, walking stick and some type of weapon. and clean out your vehicle. if there isn't anything in your car to take, then most of the time people wont break into it.
The London Bridge tours in Bullhead city

The London Bridge is in Havasu. You have to take the boat from Don Laughlin's Riverside Resort Hotel and Casino, and Ride down the River on the boat, (which is pretty fast), to the bridge. The other option is to drive to Havasu.
