In Jhb for the weekend.. had a late lunch so stopped for a late coffee and cake at Melrose Arch. There is a parking lot for vehicles though we had to go round the block to find it. The area is well lit, you feel safe at night and there are alot of eating places along the pavement. We stopped at Goliath and though they were busy, we were seated immediately. The service is very good. The cake delicious and juice freshly squeezed.

Had the opportunity to go to Goliath on Friday where they have there comedy evening. This is the second time I had gone and it didn't disappoint. They have very attentive staff who always make sure you are never dry or wanting. The food is simple but good, from the pizza to chicken strips you really cant go wrong.
Comedy evening was also really good, enjoyed majority of the acts and you always have some better than others but overall it was a really good mix. The MC was very entertaining and think this should be an event that everyone try and do at least once a year for a good laugh.

We hung out here during our trip to Joburg. There were some very good talent on display - and not just local ones. A great night out for the price.

We stayed in Melrose Arch while visiting Johannesburg. Our apartment was right by The Goliath Comedy Club. We got to know the staff pretty well as we went by there daily. We had breakfast there our first day. As I was showing my friend our pictures I realized a bee was hovering directly in front of my eyes. I PANICKED! I'm so afraid of bees and other stinging insects. I began screaming and running around. That was the first time we met the manager. He came over to calm me down. LOL! I couldn't take it so he sat us inside. No the do not have a bee problem. I'm just afraid of them and my perfume attracted one. Our first breakfast was a great one. From then on we forged a friendship. We were back that evening for the comedy show. It's a very nice vibe. The acts were funny no doubt, but the M/C for the evening beat them all. He was hilarious! Everyone was dressed so nicely. The food and drinks are great! I highly recommend this venue for the comedy, food, drinks, and dessert!

We went to a event before we ended up at this fine establishment... we had a few drinks there and many laughs. Met interesting people from all wakes and lives, in general i had a really good time. Service is professional and good.

The comedy night we went to was very funny. There were a few jokes lost on us (we're english) but funny anyway - also educational with some of the more politically themed content.
The drinks were expensive but that is to be expected. Food was cheap but not that great. I would go again but I would eat somewhere else first.

Visited the club on a business occasion, food was very well prepared. Staff friendly and helpfull. Will most definitely visit in a personal capacity in the near future.

What an awesome evening! The comedians were first class and had us in stitches all night. We had the classic burger also first class. If you’re looking to do something different and just want to enjoy a great night out try this place excellent. I think great for a celebration too.

Visited the Goliath Comedy club for supper and a show.. The comedy part of the show was really really good..
Good SA humour.. Unfortunately there were foreign tourists in the audience who got up and left as I assume that they didn't get the humour but we enjoyed it..
The food however was atrocious and disgusting. The chicken burgers were overcooked and tasteless.. Really disappointing. The Pizza's ordered were equally tasteless and really disappointing. Much of the meal was wasted.. Service wasn't really great either..
I may go back for the comedy but I will definitely give the tasteless attempt at food a miss.

Had dinner and Goliath Comedy at the new venue, the Venue on Friday 26th May. Buffet and service was great! Comedy excellent! I didn't like the cinema scope seating- my friends and I are not very tall and the people in front were tall with large hairdo's - so fair amount of craning and radio appreciation done. Perhaps seating can change once the venue is established.
