I am a recently certified diver and was looking for a non-expert diving opportunity. Nothing too aggressive. My experience with Mermaid was great. The equipment is top notch, new and safe, and included with the rate. I did bring my own mask and snorkel, however, to assure the fit. Nina, my Dive Master and her assistant Anil, were incredibly professional. I was paired up with another passenger that was doing his check out dives for PADI certification and I appreciated the free scuba certification refresher. We did two dives of approx. 45-50 minutes. There is no reef, and just a few fish, but the water is beautiful and it was a fun, confidence building day.
A half a dozen other passengers were doing their initial dive certification and their instructors did not seem as serious or professional as mine, the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 on this review. Way to much fooling around for a sport that can be dangerous. There were also a number of ‘day tripper’
passengers that just went to swim and enjoy.
All in all, a great experience for the price.

we done our padi open water at blue world diving centre in july 2018, found it on our way to lagoon, admmitadely we paid entrance fee and had to over 4 days we were doing our course to get to dive shop, but was worth it just to get our certification. Ibra was our instructor and is v friendly guy, English bob does all the theory side and is lovely bloke , the shop is pretty chaotic as they get an influx of 'try scuba' tourists daily so staff are chasing after them, and there isn't much to see as far as the aquatic side is concerned ,maybe the odd turtle if your lucky, but we were only there to get our padi and will be off to more scenic climes to do some real scuba in future , otherwise its a handy and friendly place to try some diving if your stuck for something to do but don't expect to see a lot of sea life , we went down 18 metres for the open water and all i saw was couple of fish ..

We booked Scuba diving via Sky Sports at Ölüdeniz. You are never too sure how good it will be on holiday but this place was truly amazing, so many fish! The instructors were brilliant and we had great tuition before the dive. The instructors work on a 1:1 basis with each diver and safety is paramount. We bought the videos and photos they took during the dive and at only 100 tl they were well worth it to show friends! Thank you, we’ll be back!!

We have gone to Turkey every year partly for my Dad and I to become qualified Divers, he has now become a Dive Master with the help of Oludeniz Diving Centre, I also finally felt comfortable enough with their instructors to become an Open Water Diver. Can't thank the divers enough.

There are good dive schools, there are great dive schools and then there is Dive olu deniz!!
The owner Tolga had been my instructor from the very start many years ago and is a genuinely nice guy with a "relaxed but professional" teaching style and the crew of instructors he has put together are cut from the exact same cloth!! The boats are a good size and is NEVER over booked! I've eaten on many boats in several countries and the lunch served on board the "dive olu" boats is more than ok, such as fresh salad, homemade meat balls, rice and crusty bread. Drinks and snacks are also available on board thru out the day. Courses available range from "try" dives for the "curious" tourist right thru to dive master and instructor! All of which are at very reasonable prices. If you do one thing in Olu deniz, make sure its a dive with Tolga and friends, MAY THE BUBBLES BE WITH YOU!!

Never did I think that I'd spend over a third of my holiday diving, but I'm so pleased that I did :)!
I booked a try dive initially, which was absolutely fantastic! We were given a transfer from the hotel from Ovacik to Oludeniz and met in Buzz bar on Olu Deniz's seafront. After having the opportunity to talk to the diving staff and other divers, we boarded the boat. We were given an introductory talk and a safety briefing which included a synoptic approach to the uses and functions of the e.g BCD, mask and air cylinder, the hand signals underwater and the do's and dont's in multiple languages. Definitely health and safety conscious! We were given the option to carry out 1 x 40 minutes or 2 x 20 minutes dives, with no pressure. There was plenty of supervision underwater with the 'Ok? Ok' hand signal being used quite often. It was comfortable to know that you were being watched by seasoned qualified instructors and that they had your back covered. True buddy's! There were plenty of fish underwater!
Having quickly received the 'bug' from my try dive, I signed up for the PADI Open Water Diver course. Three days were put aside for the course where we had a dedicated instructor. We had close contact with our instructor throughout and assistance on request. We sat our final exam and PASSED! :)
It was an unforgettable experience, which was made so much better by the close friendships that I formed with the dive staff and the other students. Thank you Dive! Oludeniz for the guidance and inspiration you gave. I've found a new hobby! I couldn't have wished for better buddies in Arzu, Caglar, Huseyin, Mekky (our dedicated diving instructor), Tolga, Urgu and not to forget the 'sea monkey', who kept us all well fed and watered! See you again next year for my PADI Open Water Advanced!

Found the company on trip advisor before we went on holiday and contacted them before I went on holiday as I was keen to do my PADI advanced open water. I got prompt response with all the information I needed and we agreed to meet once we got to Turkey. The day after our arrival, Tolga (the owner) called round to arrange the dives. I needed two days diving to complete my course and I enjoyed it so much I returned for a few more days of recreational diving. As well as the tuition being professional, friendly and of a high standard, the atmosphere on the boat was always great! The diving was the highlight of my holiday and I will be back for more next year!

I too have been diving with this friendly outfit over 4 years now, and always left the boat with a smiley face. Their knowledge of the area and dive sites are excellent, probably being the only operation out of Oludeniz helps. Friendly and competent staff are always happy to help and answer any queries. They have good equipment and a nice little boat. The dive sites, especially the Blue Cave and the other big cave at around 15 mtrs are excellent!
I would recommend these dudes to all divers at any level/experience and to anyone who might want to become a diver. They run courses at every level, as well as introductory/discovery dives.

Okay, this is a long review but if you need just a summing up, please just scroll down to my last paragraph.
My wife and I decided to give diving a go while we were in Oludeniz at the end of September so we booked a trip through Sky Sports. We mentioned to Martin in Sky Sports that we may be interested in taking an open water course so Martin rang Tolga, the owner of the dive centre and I spoke to him directly. Tolga explained that we could do two dives, the first being a try dive and if we liked that we could take the second dive as part of the open water course or we could just do another try dive, so we decided to go with that and paid £28 for both us for the full day which included being picked up and lunch on the boat.
We were picked up from our hotel on time at 8.45, picked up another couple on the way and was taken to Buzz Bar where we had a mug of tea, met up with other people that were diving that day then took a five minute walk to the boat (Calypso) which is moored on the beach. The boat has two decks, a dive deck and an upper deck which has both open and shaded areas (perfect for me as I'm not too great in the sun) and is in excellent condition. As the boat began sailing to the first dive site, Tolga gave us a briefing about the boat, what the plan was for the day etc. We went to a dive site where the qualified divers spent 30-40 minutes in the water then we went to another site called Blue Cave where we and the other try divers were briefed by Tolga. Everything was made very clear and if any of the try divers didn't understand anything, things were patiently explained again. The instructors got all the gear ready for us and we went into the water. We dived to five metres, fed the fish and had some photos taken which you can buy for 40TL if you are on your own or 70TL for couples. After the dive, we had lunch while the qualified divers explored Blue Cave.
Tolga asked if we were interested in the open water course and he said that if preferred and was still undecided, we could learn the first five skills of the open water course for an extra £10 each or we could just do another dive. We decided to go with learning the skills. He explained the skills, which hand signals meant what etc to us on the boat and made it perfectly clear how we would do the skills in the water. we never once felt uncomfortable about anything and he always asked if we were unsure about anything we should just ask and he would explain the skills again. We got into the water, did the five skills and dived on the other side of Blue Cave where he took more pictures.
After the second dive we went back to shore and back to the Buzz Bar at around 17:30 (beer o clock). By this time my wife and I were pretty keen on completing our open water. Tolga explained that he would deduct the first days diving and the £10 for the skills lesson off the total price. He let us borrow the open water manual (other places will charge you for this) and was told to read the first three chapters. To complete our open water we needed to spend another two days diving which included more skills lessons and four more dives. We were offered a lift back to our hotel (again, free of charge) but we decided to stay out and absorb the atmosphere in the Buzz Bar.
The second day of diving, again we were picked up on time, was taken to the Buzz Bar and boarded the boat at 9:30. We were taken to Blue Cave again but this time, Baris another instructor explained how to kit up and got us practicing this a few times before the dive. Baris was patient, friendly and generally a really good guy. He took us out for both of our dives; we completed the skills lessons then went back to the Buzz Bar where we did a short test using questions explained in the open water manual. Again we were offered a lift back to the hotel but decided to stay out, as did most of the people that we met on the boat that day. What a night!!
The Third day we were taken to another part of the bay. The qualified divers did a cave dive then we went to another site called Stonehenge where Baris guided us through the last set of skills we needed to complete. Again, Baris was patient especially when my wife had trouble clearing her mask. We then went on to another site called no name where Claire (a divemaster) took us out for our first open water dive to complete our course. Claire, like the instructors on the boat was great. She pointed out things in the water that inexperienced divers like us might have missed. After the second and final dive it was beer o clock and back to Buzz Bar to celebrate. A lot of the people that dived on our second day were on the boat on our third day so we already knew some of them and we also met a few others who were also great company, Again, another great night.
We were asked to complete a final "exam" to complete our open water and were told that we could do this at the time, tomorrow, whenever we wanted. Baris, our instructor even offered to come to our hotel so we could complete the exam there. We decided to do this the next at the bar which took a couple of hours.
A mention for Yassim who is another instructor. We never went on a dive with him but others that did said that he was great. I saw firsthand how patient he was with a try diver who was having difficulty equalising her ears. And a mention for Hussein, the boat’s captain. A really friendly guy and could never do enough for us.
So, as I said, a long review but thought these guys deserve the praise I have given here as they really did contribute to making our holiday great. Friendly, thoroughly professional but at the same time fun. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
Paul and Iola.

Oludeniz diving centre poor?
Poor judgement! And a missed opportunity to have a great time!
I have been diving with them in may and it was super!
Enthousiastic , relaxed and fun crew!
I had not been diving for 6 years and was a bit nervous at start. They took all the time to help me gear up and I felt confident to go under water with the experienced divemaster.
The spacious boat with sunbeds and all the gear on board ( so no dragging your stuff from shop over the beach) really made it great holiday-days!

Hi Elizabeth,
Me and my wife also always go to Turkey for scuba diving.
For many years we go to Marmaris and Icmeler.
We have just come back, and we were paying 20.00 GBP each per day for 2 off 30 minute dives.
We are CMAS professional divers.
How much in Olu Denize for a similar days diving?
Thanks,
Graham

Hi,
I have several questions.
1/ Do you provide all the equipment required including westsuits
2/ do you take down novice divers as well as PADI certified divers.
3/ is the dive from a rib or boat.
4/ What is the cost per person, how long is the trip and how many dives do you do.
Many thanks

We are two PADI Advanced Open Water certified divers who will visit this region from 21 June to 28 June 2015. We would like to do some diving and visit other attractions in the area. Can we dive with you each day and do you have recommended hotels in the area that are accessible to your facilities?
