‪Yes this Quartzsite Museum is free to enjoy!

I liked the miniature houses. It is attractive!

They showed how they lived here.

There is a school.

A nurse and a coach.

Bottles and gems.

A saloon

There were pictures as well.‬

‪We parked in the back. We saw a miniature town. This was so cool!
There was also a stage station.

The museum was free.

We could take pictures.
They showed how they lived in the past: The school, the doctor and more.
The museum showed.

They certainly liked the billiard!

Many people worked in the mines.

They also showed lots of rocks gems

I liked that museum. I learned a lot about the Quartszite!

A must see!‬

‪The Quartzsite Museum is located at the site of the Old Tyson Wells Stage Stop. They don’t charge admission, but donations are accepted and are used for the museum’s upkeep and improvement. The old buildings were interesting, especially the one housing the museum. There were exhibits about the Indians who first inhabited the area and about the non-native pioneer families who came later (some of whom have descendants living here still). There were antique artifacts, mineral samples, Mining history and displays of how people lived.

I found the most fascinating information was about “Hi Jolly”. He was a Syrian-Greek who came to the area as a camel driver for the not-so-successful experiment using camels for transporting freight in the Southwest. He stayed and was evidently well-liked and respected by local residents. So much so that the they built a pyramidal tomb as a tribute to him and put it in a pioneer cemetery named for him. This despite religious differences (too bad that isn’t always still the case). The display at the museum inspired me to stop by “Hi Jolly’s Last Camp” at the Quartzsite Cemetery and see the beautiful tomb erected in his honor.‬

‪Donations accepted but it’s free and worth a stop. Tour one of the stage coach stops, a hotel and explore the mining history of the area. Also good military artifacts from the history of this area.‬

‪Not sure if this is open or not. The sign says it is open on Thur from 10-Noon for the summer (April to Oct). But since it was mid Nov and still closed, I’m not sure if they extend the hours in the winter, or the sign means they are closed during the winter. I would really like to see this museum, since it looks pretty cool on the outside. I was also given a tip that they have a map with a bunch of old stone cabins you can drive to. I would’ve loved to drive to some of those places. Darn. ‬

‪It is always fun for us to visit local museums and learn about the area we are visiting. While we didn't receive any local information from the lady that was at the museum, she did offer to answer any questions we had, We spent about an hour checking it all out.
This museum is free, donations accepted. Glad we stopped to check it out, learned a lot about the area.‬

‪It’s really cool. Near information on the area, and history of Quartzsite (which is a really cool little town). It’s educational for the homeschooling family, and just neat to see.‬

‪We took some first timers to the Quartzsite Experience to the little museum, and like us they were very impressed.
Seem like every time we go there I find something there that I've missed on earlier trip.
If you even mildly interested in Arizona's history this is a great stop...
Oh Yes, The Voluneers that staf the museum were very knowledgeable and terrific...‬

‪Interesting museum with stagecoach station, historical significance, and lots of great information about times past. It has a very amazing past, with camels, and other hardy settlers and miners years ago. Definitely worth a visit.
