The vistas along the route were breathtaking, despite the hike being quite difficult. Images do not convey the full story. I liked stopping for snacks and drink breaks along the route. There were a few cyclists and hikers on the quite peaceful track.

Talk about great food! And the service was spot on. The street tacos were the best and the sweet potato fries are the best I have every had! Try the grilled mac and cheese sandwich and you will not be disappointed!

Hit the trail at 5:30 to avoid the heat, crowds, and the Pink Jeeps (which at points come close to the walking trail). You need to pay attention to the markers in some areas along the trail. The hike out to Chicken Point and back is around 3 miles with 400 feet elevation gain. You need a Red Rocks Pass (there is no fee station at the site) or an America the Beautiful Pass. There are no bathrooms at the trailhead. This is an easy to moderate hike with beautiful views. I would highly recommend.

My friend and I did the Broken Arrow Trail on our last day in Sedona, so we definitely didn't have too much time but we were still impressed. It was overcast the day we were there and it even drizzled a little, but I personally didn't mind that since hiking Sedona's rocks in the sun is not for everyone.
From our experience, the Broken Arrow Trail was the least crowded hike we did in Sedona and we loved it. It was super peaceful and we could stop and take in the views at our own pace. Cool thing about this hike is one can book a jeep tour that will go up and down the crooked rocks - we saw a few jeeps and it looked like people were having a great time. Also, it may be more convenient for people with limited physical ability. I believe one can also come with their own jeep and go as they please without having to be rushed by the tour's time limit - just make sure to follow the signs because we did see a few people get stuck.
As with all my Sedona reviews, I don't think one can go wrong with any of the hikes since the views are breathtaking no matter where you go and the hike paths are very clear and easy to follow.

Best off road trail in Sedona. You'll be surrounded by Sedona's gorgeous red rocks in every direction. Get there early to miss the crowd or sign up for a Pink Jeep tour.

The scenery was stunning as other reviews have suggested, but you are hardly alone in the wilderness. The trail roughly parallels a 4x4 jeep trail, and we probably saw 20 or so "pink" jeeps, as well as a few other jeeps (a few playing loud music.) Additionally, there was a number of hikers and mountain bikers on the trail. Still, it was well worth it. It was spectacular!
A slight cautionary note: Not too far beyond the detour trail to Submarine Rock, we apparently somehow missed staying on the Broken Arrow Trail and ended up on "High on the Hog" trail. See the map. Usually, the intersections were well signed, and there are frequent cairns, but despite generally paying close attention, we did not see any trail intersection, and only on our return did we notice the double black diamond sign. It was however apparent that the trail changed. It was much more difficult and quite narrow along some significant drop-offs. After perhaps a half mile, we thought, "enough of this," and turned back.
Personally, I did not think the side trip to Submarine Rock was worth it. That trail goes down, so the views are very much diminished, and the rock itself, despite an interesting shape, was not substantially different that the other rocks we walked on.

This is an amazing hike! The views are stunning, and will not disappoint. The trail is easily marked and manageable at a moderate pace for even an inexperienced hiker. Tips- dress in layers pack plenty of water and snacks. Be sure to wear good hiking shoes and if you’re unsteady, bring some kind of a hiking pole, stick or staff.

The most beautiful hike I have been on thus far. Breathtaking! Not "easy" but definitely doable!! If I lived nearby, I would hike it weekly.

Best hike ever, it was a bit challenging but the views along the way were beyond beautiful. Pictures don’t do it justice. Enjoyed taking stops along the way for snack and water breaks .The trail was fairly quiet, a few hikers and bikers along the way.

Adrenalin rush! Looking for an exciting way to view the outstanding landscape of Sedona? This is it! Another excellent adventure provided by Pink Jeep tours. Thrilling - beautiful stunning scenery and great commentaries by our experienced guide.

Hi there I'm terrified of heights does the pink jeep broken trail go on steep scary drop offs? Thanks!
كُتب بتاريخ 4 أغسطس 2021
There are some pretty steep climbs up and declines down that can be unnerving. There are also a few sections of the Broken Arrow tour that are on high ledges with drop offs. If you are terrified of heights, I would be hesitant to recommend this tour for you.

I appreciate the several responses I have recieved. I left quesrion on this trail head; however, we might hike this particular trail. My real question is Jeep Unlimited (stock 4 door) vs Land Rover Velar driving around Sedona on the back roads. aka, generic creek crossings if this is issue, typical road conditions. The Jeep Wrangler will have off road tire and Velar would have more of a highway tire. I will have my more mature kids but also taking my 84 yr old mom. So taking trail to challenge my "driving skills is not my plan. Thanks for all the great imput. Trip Advisor Rocks..

I was planning on bringing a jeep to Sedona. My wife suggested bringing a Land Rover Velar. With lift it has 9.9" clearance and 113" wheelbase. Taller and shorter than Jeep Unlimited. can anyone advise me please? Thanks

Lift height does not need to be super tall. But street tires are no good for that road. You might want to contact a tire company and ask what kind of tires are best for off-road. The biggest problem with off-roading is tire sidewall damage from sharp rocks. You will need tires with re-enforced sidewalls and an aggressive tread because the forest road in that area gets muddy when it rains and there are areas of slick sandstone that street treads will not grip on very well. There are also parts of the road that are very steep so you may want to use 4wheel low gear.

Hi there
I’m wondering if this tour will be too hot at 2 pm in July? Unfortunately this appears to be the only available time on the day we need. We have five people that I need to book and I don’t want everyone to be miserable (I have teenagers!) thanks

You should be fine. Bring lots of water.

I am a photographer and want to get to the best points without hiking much. I’m a bit concerned about the bumpy ride and my husband and my back and neck. Do people say it hurt them? I don’t see any comments like that! What is best for us?
كُتب بتاريخ 27 أبريل 2018
It is a bone-jarring ride. Although you are wearing seat belts, you are constantly bracing yourself to avoid bumping into one another.

Hiking yes but you will need a child ruck. If you stay on trail you are fine

How much is customary tip for jeep tour?
كُتب بتاريخ 11 فبراير 2018
What is the total distance of the hike and roughly how long did it take ??
كُتب بتاريخ 22 يناير 2018
this trail can literally be minutes to all day. If you go toward Devils kitchen & back maybe 20 Mins.
If you go to twin buttes or submarine trails & back an hour +
Toward Hog wash 15-20 Mins to wash!!!! This has spectacular views The entire trail
Lastly, The entire broken arrow trail is 4 miles round trip 2.5 miles
After almost 20 years here all my visitors are brought here & all are amazed & overwhelmed with the beauty surrounding them.
Enjoy.

We have this tour scheduled on a day that it's predicted 50% chance of rain! Will the tour be cancelled?
كُتب بتاريخ 12 يوليو 2017
They don't call them "weather truth tellers." It is their best guess.
So, it's 50/50 as to whether the tour will be cancelled. My advice - check the weather policy, and if it allows a reschedule in the event of rain, take the tour.
Remember, the quality of the forecast improves the closer you get to the date.
It didn't rain once while we were in Arizona, but that was in June. They go into "monsoon season" in July / August / September, with some pretty good rains.
