‪My husband and I toured this site while visiting the Sedona area. The road to get here is very rough but we were able to make it easily in our Jeep Wrangler. Once you get there the trail is relatively short and easy to navigate. I think it took way longer to get to the trail than to actually walk it. There were a few people on the trail the day we went but we were able to social distance.‬

‪This not a large historic site. If you have done Palatki, you will want to do this as well. It is not so much with the petroglyphs as Palatki, but more with the living spaces. Easy hiking. Tough on the car to get here.‬

‪SO incredibly cool. To think that the structures that remain were put there by human hands almost 1000 years ago! Cool ride out in the RZR, amazing time there, and another really cool ride back. SO worth it!!‬

‪We toured Honanki using the Pink Jeep Tours. I would strongly recommend not trying to drive it yourself unless you have an off-road vehicle. The canyon is beautiful and the ancient ruins incredible to see.‬

‪An awesome sight to see, with a short trail to walk to it. Do not recommend driving to it in your own vehicle. Take the pink jeeps, are rent a jeep, or rent an atv. The road to it once you leave the pavement is horrible; don't take a car.‬

‪This was really cool to see! Hard trail to get to top (even in a Jeep) but go slow and it’s worth it. Once you get to the entry, you’ll need a Red Rock pass to get in (or you just pay at ranger station). It was a gorgeous, very easy hike and very cool drawings and ruins along trail! Would definitely recommend if you enjoy history! ‬

‪We visited as part of a Pink Jeep Ancient Ruins tour. Incredible place and worth the trip and the hike. Highly recommended.‬

‪We loved these ruins and the scenery. The drive was a bit rough at times (Cadillac SUV) but we made it--just drove slow and took in the scenery. Loved the video we made of the drive in and out and the hike. Beautiful area.‬

‪RESPECT THE DWELLINGS! These cliff dwellings are about as remote as any we've seen. You'll drive north down a dirt road for about 10 miles on Forest Road 525 from Highway 89A in Sedona to the Honanki Trailhead. Most folks are uncomfortable driving their own vehicle on this road because it can be rocky and bumpy in spots, definitely dusty and dirty, and therefore, many take one of the local tour companies or rent an ATV/4-wheeler like we did. Part of the Coconino National Forest, they've contracted the care of this site to a local tour company. Which means, since we got there early, we were told several times by different people that we had to wait, as they were not open until 9:30 a.m., even though there were already tourists and visitors inside. The tour company, I guess, is allowed to do their own thing with tours since they "manage" the site and all the others have to wait until THEY say it's OK to go in, etc. Even though they were kind of rude, we waited for the allotted time and then went in for the 20 minute hike to the ruins. Very good trail and the ruins are nestled against a mountain wall. There are plenty of petroglyphs to view and even 100+ year old graffiti. It was very nice. There is NO admission, however, you will need an America the Beautiful Pass or a Red Rock Pass, which you can get practically anywhere in Sedona or at kiosks at many of these trails and sites. We came here since its sister site, Palatki was closed due to Covid (not sure what the difference could possibly have been!). Open everyday except Thanksgiving & Christmas. They do not allow pets to the cliff dwellings. There is a small, very small parking lot at the trail head, about 8 cars, otherwise, you'll be parking on the dirt road. Restrooms handy if needed at the trailhead. Beautiful place.‬

‪A long gravel and dusty road to get there. Hike is only 3/4 mile to the ruins. Beautifully preserved. Nothing else like it.‬
