I’m a dog professional (behaviorist l/trainer) and the first thing I noticed is there were no dogs barking when we pulled up. Then when we entered the facility, again, not one dog barked when they saw us! They were 33 of the most calm, balanced and friendly dogs I’ve ever met in my life!! Sami the owner was such an informative and inspirational individual I couldn’t be happier with our experience on the trail with these guys!

I can't quite put into words how special today was . The staff and dogs are outstanding. If it's the only paid thing you do in Iceland do this. great thanks to a very kind Ragnor . We are coming back soon. x

Trip was flawless. Scenery absolutely surreal. Dogs not only friendly but also so fluffy to cuddle 🥰. 100% recommend. Family and children friendly.

We were a group of five adults, on two separate sleds. The guides/owners were great. They provided snow suits and anything else needed, like gloves and hats. You get to meet the dogs before they take you on the sled ride. My Aunts are both scared of dogs, but they loved this part, as the dogs were fairly calm and playful. The ride itself was very beautiful and peaceful! Definitely a must if you are in the area!

We were guests at Bergþóra and her great Huskies in September 2024. We can fully agree with the very good reviews here, especially since we were also very lucky with the weather during our ride through a great landscape. The dogs are just great fun and the explanations were very exciting. It's also amazing that these Icelandic huskies also seem to like eating fish. Should we come to the north of Iceland again, we will definitely do another tour with the Snow Dogs. A clear recommendation for all travelers to Northern Iceland.

We had a dog sled on snow, and from the moment we arrived it was a fabulous experience, friendly warm welcome, happy dogs everywhere, great facilities.
The dogs were so excited to be off sledding.

I was in the area in November 2020 for my birthday and the experience was absolutely gorgeous! The wind was blowing and the hills were all covered in snow - the views were literally breathtaking! It seemed to be on another planet...
The huskies were so lovely and it was a pleasure to cuddle them every time we stopped for a break.
I would definitely recommend this experience!
I was extra lucky that day since one of the huskys gave birth to a lovely cub and that was something that will live rent free in my mind for the rest of my life! <3

Our tour was booked for late May, and the snow had gone from the dog sledding track by the kennels. Bergþóra emailed me to say that she could do our tour from the skiing area above Húsavík. She had to drive the sled and 9 dogs nearly 60km to meet us, but nothing was too much trouble. She provided warm overalls and boots for us, and the tour was an absolutely stunning experience - we were the only people (and dogs) for miles around and the whole thing was almost surreal. The dogs are beautiful and clearly love to have a good run - they are also extremely friendly and are always open to a cuddle! We travelled down to the kennels in the afternoon to meet all 36 huskies and to learn more about them.
We would recommend Bergþóra and her beautiful Snow Dogs to anyone who wants a memory of a lifetime. Thank you Bergþóra xx

I'm not exaggerating when I say that this was one of the best days of my life. The sledding portion of the tour was amazing. When the sledding ended, we were gifted with a generous amount of quality time with the SUPER-affectionate dogs.
The guides and hosts genuinely love the dogs and made it an incredible experience.

My husband and I are overweight. Is their a weight limit for this activity? We do not wish to put undue strain on the dogs!!!

Hello! We are a family of 4 but only our 2 sons (ages 15 & 17) are interested in dogsledding. Is there somewhere for my husband and I to wait while they go on the tour?

Yes you can be with us while we prepere for the ride and also after the tour if you want. But if you do not want to you can just take it easy in my kitchen or living room.

From Reykjavík it is a long way. 460 km. There is easiest for you to fly to Akureyri (45 min) and take a taxi or a tour from there.

We open November 20 th. for dog sledding on Snow. If we have snow before we will open. Until then we offer Cart rides. Dry land tours.
We never know when the snow comes here in north Iceland.

Hello
I'd like to book a tour for four adults for September 2019
My question is we will be staying in south Iceland at different hotels location because we have a vehicle to drive.. And explore on our own. Would it be best to drive to your location in North Iceland.. I do not know how far of a drive it would be.

In summer we offer cart tours and kennel visit.
I recommend you drive around Iceland in 1-2 weeks.
From south Iceland it takes about 12 hours to drive to us.

Thank you for contacting Snow Dogs. In late May we can not be sure we have snow. And this winter has been light so we are not booking that late dog sledding tours on snow. We never know how the weather will be so it might be possible. You can contact us again two weeks before you come.
