So great. Not really horse riders but five of us did hour tour. The two guides, Lucy and sorry I can’t recall she second guide’s name though she was from Germany, were terrific. Really personable and very comforting for skittish guests. Horses are fun and less intimidating the American horses. Would highly recommend.

Unbelievable. I just happened to see my 2013 review - we've been riding for at least a week EVERY year since with Elwira, Svenni, their great horses and the changing, partly returning helpers. I don't usually appreciate recurring holidays, it's different here.
For 11 years! I think that says it all.
Despite the many years we have known each other, none of the Trips are the same, we are always given new great moments and made sure that it never gets boring. Every year we fall in love with new horses and are just as excited to see and ride our favourites from recent years. It is and remains absolutely family and friendly, yet everything is perfectly organized, but no trace of mass handling. Every year we are surprised, overwhelmed and grateful to have found this option for us.
To the next 11 years!

只能說，一切的感受都相當美好。儘管中途被冰冷的風雨摧殘我的臉部😂
農場主人熱情的迎接我們，還有始終露出燦爛笑容的領隊Landi ，我們都很開心能夠有機會來到這裡。而且我們是前一天才從email 預約。
我的馬兒叫做storm，但是他很穩健，慢條斯理，我朋友從後面看牠走路時屁股很會扭😅。
另一個朋友的馬兒叫做gentlemen ，只要逮到機會就想吃草。
還有另一匹馬很愛放屁，每匹馬都很有自己的個性。
我們是預約一小時騎乘，每個人約台幣2240，非常值得推薦來這裡，而且農場主人擁有的馬匹數量非常驚人，我還跟他說他是馬王😂
在騎乘結束以後招待了我們咖啡以及冰島著名的婚姻蛋糕，好吃！
最後的壓軸是Bella，可愛的貓咪來算是來送客的嗎🤣，真的很可愛的那種！
我一定會推薦即將來冰島的朋友過來體驗。

What an amazing experience this was!!! They were able to accommodate a last minute booking for us and we were so happy they did despite the drizzly, cold weather. They equipped us with warm, waterproof jacket and pants and we enjoyed every minute of our hour long ride. The owner and our guide both taught us a great deal about Icelandic horses including their 5 gaits, and we even got to experience how smooth their unique tölt gait is during our ride. Our guide Hannah was so fun and helpful, and took photos of us at the beginning of our ride and at scenic points which we really appreciated. At the end of our trip the owner awaited us with coffee and cake to help warm us up. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, informative, and professional, the views were stunning, and we had a truly great experience. I hope to come back someday! Thank you!

I enjoyed every moment of our Sheep roundup tour! I think Elwira and Svenni and the team of guides did an excellent job of keeping us informed, happy and satisfied. They all had a keen eye on personal attention and individual needs for our mixed group of enthusiastic riders. I liked the stay in the guesthouse, it really contributed to the family like experience, truly belonging to the group, staff and environment. The food and accommodation was great. The hoses had a great temperament and suited our different experience levels perfectly. The provided tack and materials were maintained very well and I really liked the lunchboxes had to use on our tour; simple but very nice attention to detail. The activities matched our needs and everyone could get their own level of excitement out of the tour without separating the group from each other. It was also very smart of them to have picked this regions réttir because we could combine activities on their local farm with the gathering, moving and sorting of the sheep without being to far from the guesthouse and business. I will certainly go back for another tour with this nice and cozy business as they have shown me that a commercial riding tour can still give you a feeling of truly belonging to the Icelandic way of doing things and atmosphere.

Beyond expectation
The horses all had lovely characters, gentle, perfect shape en absolutely well taken care of
The scenery was amazing
The staff was both professional and felt like a “family”. They did everything to make it a holiday of a lifetime for us

We went on the most fantastic riding holiday with Nupshestar. Nupshestar is a family-run farm. The trip was a 5 day trip called landmannalauger. We went at the end of August 2023. The Icelandic horses were all beautiful and the hosts Elwira and Svenni were fantastic 😊 sweet, friendly and very service minded 😊 the girls who helped on the trip were also fantastic. We were spoiled with homemade food and Icelandic specialities. A completely unforgettable trip in the most beautiful Icelandic nature 😊 we are overwhelmed with many wonderful good experiences that we can take home with us. We will always choose Nupshestar when we go next time. Fantastic experience 😊 great holiday memories from Lone, Freja and Vibeke (the crazy Danes 😊)

Absolutely fantastic ride! We had the best time on a 3 hour ride. The horses were lovely and clearly very well cared for, the guide was fantastic and the countryside beautiful. The company were very helpful in changing our booking at the last minute. We enjoyed tolting and learning more about the horses. Rain-wear was provided, along with clean snoods (invaluable in the wind!) and helmets. Great value for money and a very small group, just the two of us and our guide. Couldn’t recommend enough and we hope to return for one of the long tours! Thanks again Nuphestar :)

We did the 5 day Landmannalugar ride. It was a bucket list trip for me and surpassed all expectations. The horses were all lovely and Elvira was so good at matching riding style to horse. The accommodation was good, the food fantastic and the scenery varied and beautiful. We will be back!

7 days of Fallabak. It's always an event to come back. The horses, the landscape and the incredible team and the excellent food. Thank you very much for your great commitment to leading a 19-person group safely through the country.

Would this be suitable for kids ages 2.5 and 5 years old?

Hi Darren!
Your 2.5 year old is welcome to try but not sure if it could make a long ride. 5 year old child should be able to do it up to 1 hour ride :) We do it very personal so the children will get all attention they need to feel save and have fun but as much as they ready for.

We will be there the last week in March. Seems like many of the stables are closed in winter. Any one know of one that is not?
